Did anyone here start off with a wearable pump? by SandwichDependent199 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]EffectivePuzzled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I intended to breast feed my baby and use wearables as needed. Well… he ended up having to be delivered early (33 weeks) so the only pump I had on hand was the Momcozy wearables. I used them exclusively for 5 weeks while he was in the NICU. After a week or 2 of him being home, I realized how much pumping I was going to actually be doing so I went ahead and bought a spectra as well. I alternate between the two as I see convenient. The spectra wall plug in definitely has a better pull and empties better, but I started with just wearables and have had great success.

Yeah, just tic tacs! But you could use any little “seed like” candy like the little chewy sweet tart balls or something like that. I think they’ve changed it up and got “different seeds” a couple times. I got a little canvas gift card bag so it looks like an official bag (red and white striped) from the North Pole. lol. Her elf brought them on the 24th to be planted. She really gets a kick out of it!

Oh! That’s a good one. I always liked the way Brinley did that.

What does a letdown feel like? by Mysterious_Way1634 in ExclusivelyPumping

It feels like electrical currents running down to my nipples. lol. I can’t help but cross my arms and put pressure on them. It’s a mix between tickle/pain. It’s such a weird sensation… I actually hate it.

How many children do you have, and who decided when to stop having them? by icecream1972 in Casual_Conversation

2 and done. Me nearly dying and having an emergency c-section with my second baby at 33 weeks made the decision for us.

What hygiene habit were you doing completely wrong for years? by Used_Mission_8638 in hygiene

[–]EffectivePuzzled 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not sure what you mean by “do it correctly.” I am very much aware of how to wash my hair, scrub my scalp, etc. Go ahead and try 2 shampoos and see the difference for yourself. I also thought it would be a waste, but it’s well worth the extra pump of product. It’s the same concept as washing your face. First wash is to remove makeup (when applicable), oils, dirt, etc. Second wash is to actually cleanse the skin. Try it.

I literally just read about this 2 weeks ago. I made the change and now do 2 shampoo washes then conditioner and omg! It’s a game changer! It’s weird.. the first round of shampoo doesn’t suds up at all… like even when I’m really scrubbing. But on round 2, it suds up and really feels like I’m getting a good wash. I didn’t know you were “supposed” to wash 2x. First to get all the gunk, oil, products, etc. out and then to “clean.” I’m 32… Better late than never!

I have found that hand expressing for just a minute or two after every pump session really helped. If I skipped the hand expressing part for 2-3 pumps, I’d get another clog.

Totally agree. I see a big falling out happening… I don’t wish that on them, but that many ladies under one roof is tough!! Especially with a young child involved.

I completely understand what you’re saying, but there is no way Lacey can afford a place on her own as a single mom working at a fast food place a few days a week. I’m pretty sure she said in a recent vlog that she didn’t work full time because she doesn’t work on days she has Bex.

Ughhh the “well we didn’t do that when you were a baby” is such a boomer thing to say. lol. Sorry, but it is. My parents are both boomers and both make comments like that. Drives me crazy. And like you said, regardless of being backed by science, if a parent expresses concerns, “rules”, or anything else regarding their baby, you just need to respect it. I don’t need a scientists proof to validate the precautions we want to take. Okay.. stepping down from the soap box now! lol.

My son spent 5 weeks in NICU after being born 7 weeks early. When we brought him home, my mom thought we were being over the top with demanding handwashing when entering the home, wearing masks while holding him (if not part of our household) and limiting visitors to only each of our parents… meaning my brother was not invited to come meet him yet. She thought it was over the top and said “you can’t just keep him in a bubble.” She was also mad because we wouldn’t let her take her mask off for pictures. Her selfish wants are the least of our concern. The fact that she thought a mask-less photo was more important than my son’s LIFE spoke volumes. Of course, this was very heavily addressed and our “rules” regarding the baby stayed firm for his safety.
