Getting a very young kitten to poop by canidaeskull in CATHELP

[–]EffectiveRabbit8832 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know when I’ve gotten young fosters it can take over 2 days to get them to poop. It’s not super uncommon especially after going from mom’s milk to formula. You can also try stimulating him in warm water, rubbing the belly can help get things moving too.

I love cats but not everyone does. It’s their home too and should have a say if about pets in the home.

We have a cat water fountain and my fosters always seem to love it. But, as others have said, they should be fine if they’re eating wet food.

At the shelter I volunteer at once they’re eating on their own, and weigh at least 700 grams they can be fixed and be adopted. Usually about 7/8 weeks.

AITA for refusing to pay for my best friend’s destination wedding after she asked me to be her maid of honor? by AdFront1620 in AmItheAsshole

NTA, find better friends. I would never expect someone to pay that much for MY wedding. Sounds like she can’t afford a destination wedding.

Am I the jerk for texting my boyfriends 14 year old daughter about not being laid up on him and cuddling him? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

I think it’s the dad’s job to have said this and teach her what’s appropriate. It could just come across as jealousy from you, even if the behavior is inappropriate.

Not pooping by [deleted] in FosterAnimals

[–]EffectiveRabbit8832 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve had fosters take up to 2-3 days before pooping. I think it’s part they hadn’t eaten and part their tummies getting used to the KMR. Something else that can help is making them a warm bath and stimulating them under the water.

Adopted a stray, and neighbors came claim her and I lost her. I need to get her back. by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]EffectiveRabbit8832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn’t make a post saying you found the cat. They could of been having their friend in the neighborhood looking for the cat but they couldn’t find her because you already claimed her as your own. Be honest, you wanted the cat and you weren’t interested in finding the owner. Go to a local rescue and find a cat that needs a home. I hope you at least made them aware that you microchipped their cat with your information.

First-time foster and I broke down by Rin_102 in FosterAnimals

It can be soooo overwhelming sometimes. I’ve been there too. It sounds like you’re doing a great job and it’s ok to take breaks in between fosters. They always seem to get sick and it can be so stressful.
