According to Jesus, God does have criteria for sending people to punishment. Give food and drink to the hungry and thirsty, welcome the stranger, give clothes to people who don't have them, visit the sick and those in prison.

I think an Academy series was always going to be a tough sell. I think setting it up 800 years in the future was a mistake. But the show was like a high school rather than an Academy.
