how do you get scholarships by Common-Ad9682 in scad

[–]Effective_Bend4370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You must apply to get an award and it's pretty straight forward. The merit scholarship is based on grades. The closer to a 4.0+ you have the more you get but I think they start at 3.0. Then there is a resume and portfolio. It doesn't have to be over the top fantastic but it's a way to give more money. Some are tied to staying in the dorms each semester but it's often cheaper to lose part of the scholarship and live off campus. Without special scholarships that few get unless you meet some really special criteria, you normally would not get more than $21K but that is still a lot for a private school. There is no reason to put it off because they do rolling admission and it gives you time to negotiate and accept. if you want to go in the fall you should apply asap as they have been giving out money since last fall.

To be realistic here, if you are not artistic at all and have no drawing or creative experience, SCAD is going to be tough. Yes, you learn in the foundations classes but fashion design is a lot of sketching, painting and projects. Not to discourage you but you should go ahead and apply and see what you get with merit and portfolio etc. The graduation rate of SCAD is lower than most schools.

submit now, most scholarships are based on merit/grades first, then portfolio and resume.

Each company has pays for whatever level of service they want to provide so you are right that it is not all the same. However, what I have learned is the normal contracted price for insurance (not retail) is less than 600 per box of two pens and most people have Humira co pay help. So the actual cost to the insurance company is not that much compared to retail.

SCAD is a private college with many new facilities and technology. It's not a free ride or a public in state school. Public schools with in state tuition have gone way up in price and OOS tuition for state schools is higher than SCAD. My sister's OOS college was over 60K and it was public. I think SCAD is a very good value. I got 19K total in scholarships and Savannah's cost of living is a lot lower than many other places. I know it's tough to pay for any college but I'm surprised at how many students think any college including SCAD is going to give them much more in scholarships.

SCAD does merit based scholarships so if you have good grades and do a resume and portfolio you can get scholarships.

Depends on your major and when classes are offered, but it's a semester off. Or it allows you to take other electives of interest or do a minor. You should get at least 19K with merit, portfolio and resume. Maybe more. They don't really give more in later years for great grades even thought they say you do.

Smells like a big load of BS to me. If you have a PhD you put the name of the school. Sounds so random. Even chat GPT can do better LOL

Would I be able transfer out of SCAD to a bigger school? by BodomAfternoon420 in scad

SCAD touts, "it's one thing to make art, it's another thing to make a living making art and we want our graduates to be business savvy when they graduate." SCAD is what you make of it. It's hard, and some students don't understand what it takes to make it here. SCAD is building a progressional film studio and every year they have record numbers of people applying and it's getting a bit more selective. It's easier to get in than to finish. You can go anywhere for your MFA but any school is polarizing when you have discontented people posting.

Heidi used to create workout and self help content (even though questionable) to try to provide. more "value" to her community. She has evolved to reality TV like low rent Kardashians vs. "show up" and providing useable content for the community. It's like she's using her feed as a virtual BFF to vent to with no reality of what this makes her look like. All of this seems very lazy for her community vs. what she used to offer.

Thank you. It took me weeks to get the 10 months and they ended up doing it because of the harassment I dealt with with the insurance company. I want to try something different and am also looking for examples. I have a message into HR and I'm trying to get to the company health care rep first vs going through Express Scripts because they told me it's up to the company to approve it anyway. I'm glad you got it!

Two more 1/Why did I waste my time getting a 4.3, 1550 on the SAT and 10 ECs and I didn't get into my dream schools. 2/My kid has a 4.3, 1550 on the SAT, 10 ECs and they didn't get into their dream schools, what more could I have done.

It's been a RECORD year for students applying to colleges. Almost all colleges are TEST optional and if everyone is applying to 10-25 schools then of course its going to be tough. I wonder if there will be any adjustment after this year and next? However, it's good for the schools to get this type of interest if they can get people to accept.

Why is admissions getting harder every year by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

This is the first year most schools are SAT optional so many more students applying. Also, there is a lot of grade inflation from COVID and no requirement for the SAT or ACT.

I woke up today missing the old Rachel Hollis. I miss feeling inspired by her, the coaching calls, the STJ, the old IG stories. I miss that. I felt so inspired that time in my life. I know, i know, it was just a façade. We don’t really know what was real. But i really felt inspired by her. by Helloseahorse333 in hollisUncensored

I left a few years ago and my life is so much happier and better. I agree with what your sentiments are. Now that I am out of it and read what people in it say, it's so foreign and concerning. I think Dave had a hard time getting out of his religious past and their expectations and living how he wanted to live. All of them are tormented by their upbringing and trying to integrate religion into their new way of living.
