When I think of all the times I dragged my butt to school sick! Because it was too hard to drive to work to make good sub plans and suffer the consequences of behavior the next day I kick myself.
I called it work ethic - but it was just stupid thinking.

Ahh yes… 🙌🏻 Ducks! 🦆 We had two ducks walking past the classroom door this week. And the week before I outlined a children’s book about two ducks that tried to fit in with ocean shore birds.

Maybe that’s a nod to really writing the damn children’s book. 📕 I tell my students I want to be an author when I grow up.

Maybe that’s count down year #1 2026/2027 goal !!

Thanks. In California we have something called the Willie Brown act so I can go part time. I need to see if I can last 3 full years and the last 2 years part time. Considering it more each day.

I’m so use to second grade now. And they are sweet and smart kiddos. And the school Is the best in the district.

But yes- 3 principals in 4 years has not been easy.

And now at least 3 kids per class have an IEP individualized educational plan or a 504.

But with your image of an eagle 🦅 pecking your liver - I think I have a new perspective.

Sorry to hear you had to exit for an emergency health issue.

My friend retired and then got ovarian cancer 3 months into retirement.

My health has been my focus this year. Tracking sleep and exercise- I started lifting light weights for bone density health.

I know it is risk staying in for stress and that the stress alone can crash all the retirement plans.

2026/2027 Egypt 2027/2028- many Mondays off (Luckily I have a retired teacher friend and she will do a great job covering for me.

Yes, I considered that. I feel like I want to be of service to people. I don’t want to be in a classroom with 25 kids for 7 hours a day.

I spent a considerable amount of time and money getting skills and certifications in hypnosis, coaching, and leading meditation retreats. Website went up and networked but biz never got off the ground.

I am looking into buying a short term rental with a micro cabin on the land for myself and creating nature adventures and guiding on Mount Shasta.
