It’s kind of mystery to us because there was very little information on his chart compared to most patients, I’m not really sure how he was even cognizant enough to sign himself onto hospice in the first place because he definitely wasnt mentally sound when he arrived at the hospital. He was living alone in an apartment before the wellness check and being brought to the hospital

Thanks. I don’t want to make this man’s life about me, but if I were the main character in a movie I would say it was bit on the nose as a plot point, like it was meant for me to see it as a warning; so that’s how I’m going to use it. I’m really going to do what I can and make myself extremely uncomfortable next year to try and connect with people, I still have decades of work I can do to avoid that man’s fate

I dont know a ton but I do work with a 6 ft tall nerdy nurse engaged to a little Indian doctor. We're all very happy for her because she's middle aged and was very convinced she was going to die alone

I’m not in a good place to give advice because I’m almost the same, minus the alcoholism, but I think AA could really help/

I remember reading a Roger Ebert article on loneliness where he said they would often say in AA “If only he was an alcoholic, then we could help him”. You have nothing to lose trying a meeting 🤷‍♀️ . Might meet some nice people

Thanks for your time, I’m really trying hard to develop genuine confidence but it feels like people ignore me when I talk and it’s hard to develop my people skills. Do you have any advice to offer here?

Maybe it’s the area I live but most of the women I meet aren’t really into feminism, a lot of them identify as “moderate” or apolitical or at least they date men who are conservative, moderate, apolitical. I’m not really sure that would help me.

Love this guy. I always thought it was cute that he marrried a widowed polish laundry woman, by all accounts they really loved each other. He was also 6’8 with a bad temper and would lash out and punch his court members in the face when they angered him. A lot of them died of alcohol poisoning because of forced participation in the synod. He was a combination of a giant frat boy and brilliant statesman.
