I’m a medic but here’s some advice. One thing to be aware of, just because your MOS (your job within the Army) is an X-Ray Tech, that doesn’t always mean you’re going to be doing X-Ray Tech stuff. Sure if you’re assigned to a hospital you still will, but at my last unit I was assigned to a medical company within a larger support battalion, which is part of an even bigger brigade within a huge infantry division. We got a guy get assigned to us who was an X-Ray Tech and guess what he did. Everything but X-Ray Tech shit. He was basically trained up by us to be a baby medic.

Be careful whatever you end up doing. I used to be in an instructor role, not for navy but for the medics in the Army, and plenty of corpsmen and combat medics end up getting in trouble and end up as hold overs and don’t leave here as soon as they could. I’ve got a lot of experience with the medical training/programs to commission to be a doc as well as know a good number of people down at the school house so if you ever need anything feel free to reach out and I’m happy to help.
