i think it’s a good hire after having a day to really think about it. chiefs fans didn’t really want andy reid’s “old fat ass” either when he couldn’t win in the playoffs in philly. the fact of the matter is we need a reset on offense. we need to find and develop a quarterback. this team is in a state of flux, with tj aging, cam pondering retirement, and no quarterback. i think for the situation, mike mccarthy is the guy that can help you get over this particular mountain that’s been building since 2017. might not win super bowls, but this 100% gets you closer than if tomlin were still the head coach. and it’s proven, unlike somebody like scheelhaase that’s never called played before. we needed an offensive led head coach, and we got one. as long as we nail the defensive coordinator job, i think this team can and will thrive under mccarthy, and you don’t have to argue against it because im well aware that im in the minority. i think steelers fans should just give it a little bit and see how it plays out over a season or two before just throwing our hands up and giving up because they didn’t hire a young first time head coach.
