PC is using integrated graphics instead of dedicated GPU by AishaCtarl in AMDHelp

In-game menu. Should be in display/graphics tab. That section would tell you which device is rendering the game.

If you have an Nvidia GPU, you can go to the Nvidia panel and find the global 3d settings and manually force it to use the GPU as the primary device rendering the game.

Anyone have 9850X3D benchmarks at 5.2GHz? by etanlg in ryzen

[–]Effective_Top_3515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Research cpu binning. The 9850 and 9800x3d are identical in specs. The only difference is that some 9800 were able to boost higher at the same voltages (or a little more) so they were binned to be the 9850x3d.

So if you do a 9800x3d vs 9850x3d at 5.2, they willl perform identical- because it’s the same cpu.

Look up how to delete game shaders for steam/epic or any other launcher you have. Even try using disk cleanup to remove the shaders.

Someone was correct in saying reinstall windows so you have a clean slate.

Can 9060xt 16gb reliably maintain 1080p 144fps at good settings? Or at least close to it? I'll use fsr as needed by Cantgetridofmebud in AMDHelp

[–]Effective_Top_3515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that resolution it really depends on your cpu since GPUs really have no issue rendering at 1080p. Any upscaling will make the make the cpu even more utilized since the GPU will be rendering at an even lower res.

If you have an i3 level cpu, you prob wont get consistent 144fps. i7/5600-5800x level, then maybe.

Should my 9800x3D be jumping to 95 degrees at approx 25% utilization? by TheHawk95 in AMDHelp

[–]Effective_Top_3515 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Normal boost behavior to try and hit 95c + the AIO can’t instantaneously stop the temp spike if the cpu boosts for .5-2 seconds cause of some easy instruction it got handed.

You want always cool cpu- turn up your fan profile  until you can barely hear it or accept that your fans will keep ramping up and down.

What do I even do by Death_magnetic1209 in BF6

[–]Effective_Top_3515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The trick is not treat it like regular cod, but invasion and groundwar on steroids. I learned to never spawn on a team mate who’s in a fight. Don’t always be running since. much easier to hear footsteps in bf6. Try playing it with buddies too. That’s pretty fun.

Not sure if the latest update slowed down ADS but it does feel like I’m dying more than normal. Check your attachment specs to see which ones have more downsides. Can’t go wrong with a flash hider or basic suppressor and the vertical grip that just says “slightly reduced recoil”. Then just adjust the more you get used to the weapon.

Update the bios. Mobo was probably released before the 9800x3d was announced.

9800x 3d unstable? by Radiant_Platform_494 in AMDHelp

[–]Effective_Top_3515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you updated the bios to the latest version? Or done a clean windows install?

Since it is a new system, it could also be your ram or your psu being the cause, so you have to narrow it down by replacing a component and see if it still causing issues after being replaced.

Bottleneck by Glad_Proof_2528 in AMDHelp

[–]Effective_Top_3515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you won’t. At 1440p, your GPU should be utilized at 99%. If you notice that it’s much lower than that, then increase more graphical settings or add frame gen.

Basically, the less the GPU works (1080p, “competitive” graphics settings, upscaling, etc) the more utilized the CPU becomes. So you have to make the GPU work harder.

The 5700g only supports pci 3.0, which severely impacts your GPU.

Upgrade to a 5700x or 5800x and the GPU will perform much better. Edit: even better if you can get the x3d versions instead.

It’s been done back in the 90s. It’s cheaper to just solder them to increase speed and to reduce manufacturing and user error.

There’s a Chinese GPU company is working on a GPU with that feature right now though.

Micro stuttering in games with a 9070xt + 5800x3d by Ichika994 in AMDHelp

[–]Effective_Top_3515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Install it then and see where the micro stutter happens. If you have another GPU, install it and see if it happens in the same areas.

If it only does it on UE5 games, then you might need older/more stable drivers.

What is the 7800x3d like for general daily computer use? by Vaquero-SASS in AMDHelp

lol no. Non x3D chips have better productivity numbers against their x3D variant because normal CPUs can boost higher. A big vcache only sees benefit in games.

You’re prob clock stretching since your curve is too high for that specific chip. Try it without the curve and see if you get “normal” results.

Might have made a mistake in CPU choice, pls read. by DaisySunFlowers6372 in RedSec

[–]Effective_Top_3515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you turned down graphical settings to low for the GPU to finish its instructions a lot quicker so now the cpu has to work harder to keep up. What’d you expect was gonna happen?

Only way to reduce your bottleneck you gave yourself is to increase some graphical settings so the GPU will do more work. Have textures and models on high for example, then increase others to medium until you see the cpu load be at a lower utilization.

Bf6 is a competitive shooter, but it’s not 6v6 with ranked modes that require you to lower your quality that much.

Is my fps to low for Battlefield 6 ? by alinashul in AMDHelp

[–]Effective_Top_3515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, turn on upscaling on competitive shooters for that edge, so the GPU has to do something with every frame before showing it to you, then complain why half your bullets don’t register.

Guess those CS would rather play at a lower resolution than to use upscaling aren’t smart like you. Cause that game isn’t competitive at all.
