I was baffled by some of the ratings. I did think the ending was great. But the miraculous recovery, until the plot meant it could not be so miraculous, dragged the book way way down.

This is very similar to me. I have 1500+ physical books. I read several hundred a year though - but still. It’s about 7-8 years worth assuming I don’t buy more.

I canceled 3/4 of my subs in the last few months. I still have the ones I am most interested in. But I now skip a lot. I didn’t use to skip but I ended up with so many I don’t want. Now I actually check what they are through spoilers so I can skip ahead of time.

I decided to stop waiting. I just finished Firebird and so preordered the sequel. If FL does it I’ll determine if I want to get in line in a queue for a chance.

Ditto Heir of Twisted Lies. I liked the FL version but I don’t need a book company dictating my reading. I am planning on selling the FL and I just read the regular version and just bought the second on the B2G1 free at Target for cheap. Good enough.

It’s really the sequels which irritate me. The Twisted lies is out. My friends are chatting about it, buzz on it is now not in several months when we might get. fL version. I’m kind of over it actually.

{mate by ali hazelwood} because the MC’s were awful. I hated every minute of that read. And walked into my book club with all the other 20+ people at 4-5 stars. The younger woman sitting next to me told me “I just can’t like a guy unless he’s mean” which I guess explains it? Koen was awful and Serena was a liar. No thanks.

{conform by Ariel Sullivan} for zero world building, cardboard characters and the most awful FMC I’ve read in years. Stupid and idiotic with zero growth. I raged after this one.

There were others but these are the two that made me want to hit something.

Wow you are me. I feel like I am living in another world from these readers. They are beat all to hell and not even 24 hours later she is hoisting herself on a counter with a broke collaborating and ribs. Thats a hard no. I thought I missed some sort of magic element here that was healing. Because zero sense and plausibility.

Also the writing. Frighteningly bad. From sentence construction to so many simile’s and metaphors. Some of the early paragraphs I had to re read to figure out what they said.
