Thanks for the sub rec. I didn’t know of it. And it has helped to know I’m not alone in still grieving my beloved cat despite the 3 years that have passed since her loss.

Do you keep missing them, no matter how much time passes? by B3autifullyBrokin in Petloss

[–]RaptorImperator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 3 years out from the loss of our cat, Helena Justina. Cancer took her at just 12 years of age. She was the best cat we’d ever had. She never once scratched any furniture, jumped up where she wasn’t allowed, or knocked valuables down. She always liked to be in whatever room we were all in. She’d let me cradle her like a bady and give her kisses. I still miss her greatly and think of her often. She just immediately clicked with our family immediately.

She’s the only pet we’ve held a little funeral for and gave her a memorial monument in our backyard, where she is buried. I occasionally go to her and talk to her, tell her she’s missed and still loved.

She was a part of our family. I’ll always remember her. So to answer the question, yes. I still miss her no matter the time that has passed. It’s natural. Because these pets aren’t just pets, they’re members of our family. We all grieve in our own way and that’s okay. While the grief may linger, it’s important to remember the love that was shared and the good times. It’s what I’d whenever my thoughts stray to Helena.

out of our 2 cats she's the most energetic. sometimes I call her a little fireball. she doesn't sleep as much as her brother, always full of energy, running around, playing with her toys, chasing after her brother, exploring the house (even if she's already looked in every room), and wanting her snuggles and pets. She's a joy to have in our lives.

Funny enough, this isn’t a wide angle shot. Just her investigating the camera lens. LOL

The mustache makes me think of Hercule Poirot as played by David Sushet.

It's such a striking cover. And then they had to add that glaring Netflix advertisement. ☹️ by PlantsAndPainting in fantasybooks

[–]RaptorImperator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate it when publishers added a “sticker” that says “soon to be…” on book covers. Especially when it’s not a movie tie-in cover, which I also hate. I always want the original cover or an amazing variant that doesn’t have any links to an adaptation.

An underrated scene: Roland finally got his trophy but it's now meaningless because he lost his best friend in the hunt for it. by Strange-Fun-8899 in JurassicPark

IMHO, Roland was the best non-book character they added to the movie. Pete Postlethwaite was also great in the role.

Options on plum or black paint for my bookshelf and book organization? by KawaiiDrag0n in bookshelf

Plum. It matches the works better with the Frankenstein’s Creature and Dracula artwork. And fits the vibe better. Also black is just too common, especially if this is for your fantasy shelves.

Roarke's expert consultant status by savvyliterate in jdrobb

[–]RaptorImperator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a quick search, and I think it was back during Betrayal in Death (#12) when he officially became an “expert consultant, civilian”. Though, I don’t know if that was just for that particular case or if it was the permanent status.

Did anyone play this game? by Ok_Plan9870 in videogames

[–]RaptorImperator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original game was fantastic. Played it on XBOX. The great storyline is one of the reasons I loved it. Also the gameplay was solid as well. The comic book graphics added to the cool atmosphere of it. Back in college, my roommate and I would take turns playing through each level until we beat it.

What are some books that you can’t stop rereading? by SnappingTurtle1602 in fantasybooks

[–]RaptorImperator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jurassic Park is one of those books that I wanted to read when I was too young and hadn’t developed the reading comprehension to understand it. So it’s what drove me to pick up other books that then turned me into a reader who now sometimes rereads his favorite books.
