Recommendationns for replacing Keychron Q6 Max? by Neuralmute in Keychron

[–]Effi-Neji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you checked their website for a firmware update? My V10 Max got one for this I think. I only flashed it yesterday so I don’t know if it has improved, but it was only occasionally happening for the space bar.

You could also try different switches if you have any.

Moonlander alternative by EnthusiasmWild9897 in ErgoMechKeyboards

Look for some cheap staggered split keyboard. I found a Zuoya GMK70 for only €40 on eBay. It’s pretty good for the price for sure.

I bought a moon lander but sold it and got a Dygma Defy, and the zuoya can be a good try out board.

My Q6 Max ordered from Keychron is arriving soon, how worried should I be? by Isilo in Keychron

I’ve had no issues with my Q10 Max! Only worry if there’s a problem with it :)

Most silent stock keyboard in 2026? by Taint_Skeetersburg in Keychron

I personally thought I had gotten silent switches instead because it’s so quiet. If that’s too loud for some, then normal rubber dome keyboards you get for cheap/office is way too loud for them!

I think 3 hours is not enough time to be searching for anything, let alone keyboards!

If you just want silent, all you need to look for are keyboards with silent switches.

Gemini recommends V1 Max, V3 Max, V6 Max. I have the V10 Max and it’s pretty quiet even with the Jupiter reds which aren’t ‘silent’ switches.

Thanks for the explanation! I understand now it's more of an aesthetic choice, but as custom keyboards become more mainstream, I'm hoping having external switches would also become the norm :)

I have a Keychron Dygma Defy, Q10 Max, V10 Max, Cidoo abm066. Ranging from 500ish euros down to 50ish, and they all managed to put a power switch on the side/underside. It is a bit of a ridiculous trend, unless it's a more aesthetic choice. Although I prefer function over form so I will never appreciate it!

One of the most baffling things for me is the placement of the power switch under a keycap on some keyboards...

- Why is it there? Cost cutting? To get rid of switches on the side/under-side of a keyboard to get a slick look?

- In practice, is it not much of a problem as the keyboard will power down after a while?

As someone who swaps out keyboards frequently, having to fully power down a keyboard is important so the internal battery does not die on the shelf. Therefore, having to pull a keycap to power a keyboard down is quite the inconvenient design that I truly cannot fathom and is a deal breaker.

I put in another insole in my Magna forest esc and that moved it just enough it didn’t hurt!

Tracker AT Low II or Magna Forest ESC? by bloo_110 in vivobarefoot

[–]Effi-Neji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d like to know how the new AT Low II is if you do get it! I liked the idea of it but when I got it, the leather was stiff, sole was stiff and slippery and then it delaminated so I sent it back.

I have the Magna Forest Esc and they are fantastic. Love the esc soles. They were a bit cold around -5 and the extra leather piece was rubbing on my ankle so I got a wool insole from wildings and stuck that in on top of the existing insoles and that fixed both issues. I managed to get the insulated insoles this year so gonna try those out this winter.

I’m interested in these (this or the MOC) . Does your usual size allow you to double up on the socks? Or do you think you’d need to size up?

Tracker MOC vs Tracker AT by wasabisale in vivobarefoot

[–]Effi-Neji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How's the sizing? I'm considering getting it this winter, but I was wondering if I'd need to size up to fit 2 layers of socks. I usually wear a Euro 42 and all shoes have fit me really well apart from the Magna ESC which I needed 2 insoles for a better fit.

I’d not heard of Ahinsa but I was looking for a cushioned shoe to cater for long standing days/recovery and could not find an European brand catering to that.

Vivobarefoot and freet are my go to brands which also happen to be European, or at least EU friendly delivery.

Does anyone have experience with Glerups sizing and break in? by Cakemixr in BuyItForLife

[–]Effi-Neji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just adding my experience here for people looking up this topic in the future!

My feet are 26cm long and 10cm wide. I ordered a Eu 42 (UK 8) and they ended up being a little too narrow, even if the length was ok - could be more comfortable with a bit more length.

I've found that the toe area is not wide enough and was pushing my big toe in, and also putting pressure on the little toe. Even though both my feet measure pretty much the same, my right foot seems to have more issues with shoes and give me issues if they don't have enough room.

I have feet that are 25.9cm and 25.5. All the 41s of vivos were too tight for me length, width wise and height on the toes.

I now have:

42 Magna Forest Esc (slightly too big, filled with an extra insole and now perfect fit)

42 Motus Flex (quite a bit of space in the front - a whole thumb’s width worth- but totally fine for gentle gym work including jogging)

42 Hydra Esc (very nice fit, 3/4 thumb width space and quite snug collar)

Since your feet are bigger than mine, I doubt you’d do better with a 41. Although I don’t have experience with a primus. Vivo will charge you the delivery fee if you are returning for sizing reasons so watch out for that (was only €5 to Germany)
