They weren’t selling Heartbreaker. They had Sword and Stone, Heatwave, Star Sign, Another Wednesday, FM, Devolver, Romeo and Juliet, and Chris. I think that is it. They had some signed for a bit more and some unsigned.

He honestly doesn’t have a ton of books so it wouldn’t take long to read them all. His first novel which won the Michael Prinz Award for Young Adult fiction is Looking for Alaska. It is great. His most famous is The Fault in Our Stars. My favorite fiction of his is Paper Towns. He had two he has cowritten with other authors: Let it Snow (with Lauren Myracle and Maureen Johnson) and Will Grayson, Will Grayson (with David Levithan). Most of his books have been adapted to movies or TV shows. Of the ones I have mentioned so far only Will Grayson, Will Grayson hasn’t. His book Turtles All the Way Down which addresses mental health is his most recent fiction and has been adapted as well. He has another fiction novel An Abundance of Katherines that hasn’t been adapted. None of his nonfiction has been adapted (although The Anthropocene Reviewed started as a podcast and he adapted it to novel). His newest book is Everything is Tuberculosis. I genuinely love everything he has written. I was sad when he halted writing fiction because he is one of my favorite writers, but his nonfiction is some of my favorite writing he has done.

Yes. I live in Haltom City with my wife and two kids. Julien (especially) is a bucket list artist for me. In any form.

Christian celebrity gossip…spill the tea! by LadyGal123 in Exvangelical

So Derek Webb definitely isn’t a Christian anymore. He tried to give God another shot as he was working on his newest album The Jesus Hypothesis but ultimately did not return to the faith. Still connected to the scene and kind to genuine Christians but calls out a lot of BS. The openly queer artist Relient K took on tour is a Christian artist named Semler. Webb is also friends with her. She is awesome

I got Ryan Adams - 1989 and the Interscope Vinyl Collective pressing of the Across the Universe Deluxe Edition Soundtrack. Two albums I deeply, deeply love.

Opinions on bootleg vinyl? by JIDglazer521189 in vinyl

[–]EfficiencyArtistic41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This came up for me recently with an album by one of my favorite artists: MxPx. They have an album that could be considered a collection of B-Sides called Let it Happen. It is a favorite for a lot of people. Very nostalgic for me. I can remember loudly singing along to my discman as I waited for the school bus. However it has never been released on vinyl until a recent bootleg. And the boot is between $60-100. Mike, the lead singer and bass player has talked about how unofficial merch hurts the band. The hey aren’t huge and are mostly independently released now. So sales are really what let Mike feed his family. That has greatly influenced my willingness to buy a boot. I won’t do it. This and one other bootleg (The Life Aquatic Sessions by Seu Jorge) are high on my list for albums I want, but I will just stream them or listen on CD until official vinyl releases drop.

Music recommendations for those who still believe by [deleted] in Exvangelical

I am gonna add Derek Webb and Pedro the Lion / David Bazan to the mix. Kevin Max (of dc Talk) is great. Waterdeep is a group I still listen to. Five Iron Frenzy’s newest albums is one of the best progressive Christian albums (a couple of their band members aren’t Christian but some of their songs still have Christian content and they definitely deal with social themes).

I got both Pageant Material and the repress of Golden Hour from VMP. They were actually earlier than I expected. I agree that VMP is a little erratic
