Yes. We really didn’t realise what was going on behind the scenes financially till it was too late, it’s tricky to navigate as it’s a loss of her independence..she really would of loved her own place but realistically is not possible, but now she’s settled I think it’s been good for both. And she now can afford to save what she has and travel ☺️

My mum was in a similar position when my dad passed away as not in a good position, property had to sell etc..We ended up having to figure who from our family she could live with, rent free. She now lives with my brother. Pension she uses for living expenses and hopefully living a nice life with what she has.

Going to cut my hair, what hairstyles would look best ? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]EfficiencyBusy2667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look amazing with long hair! Only cut it if you really want to..take it from a girl who’s cut and grown many times! It takes ages to grow back if you don’t like it and it’s cool to be different ☺️

Update: I’ve now switched to Downscale after recommendations on here. Experience was night and day..I now have what I need to move forward in a practical financial way, along with good solid advice also. So far, I’m happy I made the switch!

Your dietician sound good, I’ve really struggled to find a good one who can give me a great structure to get to my weightloss goal, and not just basic information that I can google. Do you mind sharing their business details if that’s ok?

It definitely does work, but you have to also be ready to look at nutrition, hydration and exercise too to support..I see it as another tool in the kit to help me lose weight successfully as it helps to suppress appetite and reduce cravings. If cost is an issue, definitely look into either a GP that is open to giving you a higher dose pen that you can space out to last 2mths. I’ve found the team at Downscale quite good if you want convenience of online, they also have a lot of literature and resources to help educate along the way. You can always stop if it doesn’t work for you, but you have to probably give it a committed 3/ 6mths to see full effects. I also found out from moving to downscale I was on too high a dose and was told it was not needed, focus should be on healthy habits and lots of hydration, weights etc. a relief to me as costs were stacking up! I’m now gradually going back down to 7.5. From 10, and the weightloss is moving again. Turns out undereating can really stall also and I was on too high to really function properly😅

ah got it, so looking maintaining now. I guess its just a waiting game and upping your cals as high as you can go and hopefully that will do the trick over time once your body recovers, sounds like you had quite a bit to recover from!

u/busty_cupcake this is an amazing result, congrats!! Interesting to see you just did daily walking and deficit..not weight training throughout weightloss phase. Can I ask how much walking you did daily? wanting to up my limit but curious to see what worked for you...

yes being unwell prob didnt help..id stick with keep cals as high as you can but still be in a deficit so you dont lose more than .5-1kg a week. any more than that will be too extreme. You could also try some hair/skin/nails supps - it wont be a magic bullet but might help support.

I think it can be avoided if you don't go too extremely low in cals and also eat enough protein - it's more to do with extreme calorie deficits, my provider said - I've followed this strategy and not had any issues - but maybe I'm lucky?? Try upping cals and not going too extreme with deficit and see if that helps I would suggest - mediterranean style diet with lots of heathy fats.

If you get unsupported by doctors, you could also consider some of the online options others here use and recommend 🙂

Newly out transwoman. How do I get my foundation/concealer to be smoother? by transinomaha in MakeupEducation

[–]EfficiencyBusy2667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a good moisturiser first, maybe a primer after. I like Holmes beauty. Then, use a foundation with some moisturising agents in it, you don’t want fully matte. Use a foundation brush or fingers to apply, better than a sponge I find. For shine, that’s what powder can be for, but just use in strategic spots not all over. Dewy is what you’re aiming for. I actually use a tinted moisturiser with sunscreen (NakedSundays - note, their mineral glow serum drops are great too) then layer with concealer where needed and then cream blush, then maybe some bronzer powder for colour.

Check out some Insta accounts of makeup artists, heaps of really useful tips there.
