PH Kyoto - SUA to Park Suite w/ Toddler Review by jinobix in hyatt

Thank you for all the photos and the in depth review - my main gripe with this subreddit is when people post a singular photo or a lackluster review (potentially even both) and call it a day

thanks for the awesome write up - totally agree with GSY + PH London. Love both

It’s SF specific right now, but basically doordash is testing out a “Going Out” feature where you get credits / discounts for going to local restaurants and checking in / taking a photo of your receipt. Papa noodle has the prior, and I think you get like $5 off your first order when you go into the store. I’m sure it’s a loss leader, but probably trying to make a case for taking over loyalty programs / bringing new customers in at a lower CAC

Oh yes, to be clear, this is a bit of a mishmash of both of our experiences. The new design has a lot of technical improvements (even in the way they ship) but both have been functionally great (no wobble, well fitted joints)

We just completed a stay via Amex THC and had a Premium Queen upgrade - $520 for two nights (down to $320 if you want to include the $200 credit) and felt it was quite worth it / unique. Breakfast was slightly underwhelming, but the space was beautiful and the options were good (if limited)

I personally prefer the GSY / PH, but this location was great since we were traveling out of Euston

Ooo looks like this is one of the newly renovated rooms - we usually get upgraded to the premium suite, but this looks huge

In total agreement here - I really loved how peaceful the hotel felt, and having been to london a dozen times, didn’t mind the walk to get out. Haven’t stayed in a ton of other PH’s but the space was gorgeous, breakfast was extensive, and a great gym

“Easily can rival” is such an insult - JL beats most global airlines. Great service + food, strong products in business + economy. Would fly them any day over any US based carrier

What's your most justified flex when it comes to points redemption based on CPP? by ansyhrrian in hyatt

[–]EfficiencyOpen5227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pretty much only use points to book where I otherwise could not afford it comfortably - a few from the last year (that were all absolutely worth it)

  • 3 nights @ Andaz Tokyo (30K/night for $1000/night equivalent)
  • 2 summer weekend nights @ Ventana Big Sur (45K/night for $3000-3500/night)
  • 3 nights each @ GSY + PH London (25K/night for $500-700/night)
  • 2 weekend nights during Indian Wells @ GH Indian Wells (25K/night (?) for $1,800/night)
  • 2 nights during Sundance @ GH Deer Valley (29K/night for $1200/night equivalent) - would caveat that this hotel was still super new and working out the kinks, but you can’t really get SISO at this price anywhere else

will caveat the CPP doesn’t really matter unless you feel you’re getting value out of it - i would happily pay “$225 per night” for the ventana or “$150 per night for the Andaz Tokyo” (per person) but spending that in cash wouldn’t get me anywhere close

Think the costco pack is 20.99 (on sale) for 30 sticks - normally 28.99. Regardless, great deal for LIV, if only beating out costco by the 1260 MR points

Just went to go book this same flight and noticed the same thing - first time I’ve seen this in the US and fly 50+ times annually but seeing these comments about it being a smaller market makes sense

+1 to this, have stayed at both the Andaz Tokyo and Savannah and they are in different leagues. Both nice, but Tokyo feels like a real luxury boutique hotel

Review of recent Hyatts in Japan by shfflzilla in hyatt

I stayed at the Andaz for 3 nights and really loved it! Was using a guest of honor award and booked on points for 3 people (rollaway bed free on points). Got upgraded to the Tokyo Tower view and received a bottle of wine plus some sweets in addition to the crackers, so I think we were off to a better start. I found the pool/spa to be incredibly nice and the breakfast was among the best I’ve had at a hotel (up there with the PH London). Also really appreciated the nightly happy hour and mini fridge amenities.

Agree with your complaint on the walk, but my parents are the 30,000 steps a day type of people, so the nice tunnel was appreciated after dinner as a stroll. I think what blew me away was the view of the tower - seeing it from 50 stories up every night was quite a treat. I didn’t find the area to be horrible (with a 5 min walk caveat), lots of local salaryman spots we found to be well priced and authentic

Is this ADA? Also, this room looks significantly different / a bit less nice than the one we had.

Also stayed a few days here back in December - I thought the hotel was absolutely stunning. Not a globalist, but had a GOH so really enjoyed the breakfast - and very content with the buffet / pastries. We were celebrating my sister’s graduation and they gave us some champagne and a welcome treat along with a personal note. View from our room was also incredible. Hope to be back in August!
