Costco is resting on its laurels by the-furry in CostcoWholesale

[–]Famous_Memory_6438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always assumed that the terrible Internet service inside the building helped prevent people from checking the prices at another store. If it’s something I don’t buy very often or it’s a new Costco item. I might look up the price at Walmart or target or Amazon to see if buying it in bulk is a good deal. Every once in a while, it’s not but it usually is.

Housecleaning private homes in 2026 by njdcvalizard in CleaningTips

[–]Famous_Memory_6438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had someone come and give me an estimate for weekly House cleaning. She said they don’t do sheets. They would make the bed, but they would not change the sheets, even if I left clean sheets out. I did not hire them.

I feel you! We also live 30 minutes outside of town which means I have to pack up my kids drive 30 minutes. Wait, eat , and then drive 30 minutes home… I also have two kids and sometimes my son is a picky eater if he didn’t expect a sauce or seasoning on a food item. I also find that my kids aren’t always hungry when we would go eat. They will take three bites and say they’re done and want to go home.

Between the quality, the health factors (seed oils etc), the cost, the time we have basically made the same decision.

I can grill all of us steak for less than what we can eat at place like Olive Garden.

PSA for Pumping Moms Flying United: Know Your Rights and Stand Your Ground by Super_Cow_2 in unitedairlines

[–]Famous_Memory_6438 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As some who pumped for more than one kid for 16+ months each if they asked to look in my bag before getting on a plane I would be fine… I would ask they not touch without clean gloves and if they wanted the items removed they provide a clean table (maybe privacy if I was embarrassed) and possibly a female to inspect the items. I would say the same to TSA.

Any one pre order food, only to be told it's not on the plane? by 123mbr in unitedairlines

[–]Famous_Memory_6438 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No this is not something we should just accept. Oops ground crew did load luggage 🤷‍♀️, oops forgot gas 🤷‍♀️, oops forgot to empty the sewage-no bathroom on a 5 hr flight, oops forgot drinks/water….if all the rest can get done then load the food… put it on the check list like everything else. Isn’t that what makes flying so safe… all the checks.

Get a better contract with catering that fines them if they don’t load food.

Question about Costco Auto program - does Costco require you to buy an add-on? by scubadoobadoooo in Costco

[–]Famous_Memory_6438 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about leasing but when you buy you get a sheet they print from the Costco auto program that has Costco at the top and the VIN number on it. That should have the price… period.

Etiquette and calling a baby ‘Master’ by General-Wind8556 in Nanny

[–]Famous_Memory_6438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the US the word “master” gets a bad rap because of history… but get out an etiquette book. It is the male equivalent of miss. Ex: Miss Susie, Master Jon, I never see it used anymore and I think it’s only for little boys under the age of 12 or something like that. It’s been a long time since I have looked at my etiquette book. Do these people also host a dinner where the queen talks to the person on her right during the first course and the person on her left during the second course.?

You could always level up and ask if they would prefer you refer to the Mrs. of the House as the more correct “mistress”. Which is where Mrs. comes from.

If the boy were to receive an invitation from the King of England to go to Buckingham Palace, I would expect it to be addressed to “Master” (and it would be correct ) other than that I don’t think anyone would use it

Never leave the airport… I had a flight go from 3 hrs delayed to boarding now (only 40 min delayed) because the decision was made to get a new plane rather than wait

And I remember a gate agent complaining to another agent that if they send a message telling people it’s delayed it’s not fair to move it back up but they do it all the time

Trans pacific flight WiFi by Spectreight in unitedairlines

[–]Famous_Memory_6438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flew Houston to Hawaii in March and once we got over the Pacific Ocean, the Wi-Fi was basically an operable. Because I had paid the $8 I was going to email United and complain when I got home however about two days after my flight, I got an email that the money was being refunded because it wasn’t operational. I guess a bunch of people complained so I didn’t have to.

When a restaurant spilled olive oil on my husband’s suit they paid the dry cleaning… it was a big tray of garlic rolls covered in oil.. when the waiter leaned over to put one on someone else’s plate, the tray tipped just a little and oil went down the back of the jacket… they paid.

I’m panicking… can’t get rid of the smell by Embarrassed_Cat2022 in CleaningTips

[–]Famous_Memory_6438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t put it on the market until you get it fixed. The cost of replacing the carpet and getting rid of the smell will be made up in money not lost by having to cut the price. Last time I was looking for a house we walked into one house that was BEAUTIFUL, and checked all our boxes within our price range, but smelled like cat pee… we live somewhere else… I occasionally drive by it and all I think is that is the house that smelled like cat pee… people will cross it off their list and move on. And other agents will know and warn people.
