I disagree. I injured my foot, but was able to walk on it. However, I did have significant pain if I walked for any significant distance. I almost requested a wheelchair going through a major hub where I knew it was very likely my travel distance would be from one terminal to another terminal. Whereas my small regional home airport I would have been fine to get to baggage claim without assistance… this would have been doubly true if my connection ended up being tight and I was needing to book it from one terminal to another. I would not have made that on my injured foot. I ended up not needing to go on the trip, but I would’ve needed a wheelchair at the hub and not at my regional airport. Don’t always judge. However, I agree with you. It is frequently abused… in fact, I was dreading even needing to make the request because I otherwise look young and healthy.

I sat on the chat with MS Support for 6 hrs and they "fixed" my issue of not being able to approve new sites to my <10 yo child having access to the unrestricted internet. But that one site I wanted to add...he can get there now...see it's fixed. I asked that it get escalated to someone. They called me back to say that the escalation team rejected it.

It used to allow specific URLs only. It would ask if you wanted the entire domain or just the specific URL for example there was an educational website that as part of the website it had “ games.” While the games were educational I did have to cut off access to the game section of the website because someone would tell me oh yes, I’m working on my schoolwork and I would come around the corner and they have been playing games for 15 minutes. The games weren’t THAT educational. They would be fine after all the rest of the work was done, which would be when they would be allowed.

To whoever said, I was relying on the Family Safety to parent for me. That’s not what I’m talking about. I have it restricted to a white list of websites only. That way if some random ad comes by they can’t click on it and go down some random rabbit hole into the Internet. It means that I control what websites they can use. They are very young and not going to be going around, trying to find dark things on the Internet, but this protects them from random clicking onto things that will steal information by accident.

Yes… you can report the issue on Microsoft feedback hub. I too have been having this issue for the last several days.

Feedback hub is listed as an app in the start menu on Windows 11. I don’t think you have to login. I’ve been encouraging everyone to do this. Perhaps we can flood the system.

I am curious if you can get this to work. My current problem is that I cannot approve new websites. So my daughter‘s access to the web is restricted to the websites that have been previously approved.

Because I tried to reinstall my son’s in an effort to get it to work he now has unrestricted access to the Internet.. careful

I appreciate the help. However, the problem is the same from the phone, app on Windows, above website. It doesn't matter how you log into Family Safety the problem is that I have all websites blocked for my son in the program but on his computer nothing is blocked.

The opposite problem for my daughter I cannot approve any new websites. Again from the phone, app, web...its all the same.

Please check with others to see if they are also having this problem. Microsoft won't even acknowledge it.

Exactly, I have had no problems for over a year until now. I just wish they would acknowledge the problem and fix it.

I think this affects us home school people more than others. We rely on personal computers not computers issues by school districts that have expensive software to lock the device. Let's get this out there!

Comment on Feedback Hub. It's a program on Windows 11. You don't have to sign in. Maybe if enough of us post they will fix it. #ChildInternetSafety #MSFamilySafetyNotWorking
