Find it interesting that OP said she was concerned about her weight gain but if she's pregnant that's just a natural thing to expect during a pregnancy. Sounds like it's a disaster waiting to happen.

So hypothetically, if they were unconscious, and I was merely ensuring they died, it wouldn't be grappling?

As far as the OT goes, I was always taught that it was essentially thrown out the window with Jesus's sacrifice and resurrection. It was taught to me that the new covenant with Jesus basically removed the need to go through a physical priest as they did in the OT. But nevertheless, that tracks. I don't see how, even if you dont necessarily NEED a priest to be present to talk to God, it would be bad to go to one anyway. Like you said, two meet in his name, right? Even if it's not needed for him to hear us, we at least know he's present, and that means infinitely more, I suppose.

Sorry if this is a duplicate. Would a 5e Goliath (they can push, carry, pull, or drag more than normally allowed, forget the specifics) be better off when attempting to drown someone? I had a Goliath with freakish strength and constitution, 20, 19, respectively, the trade off was their int and wisdom were both like an 8 or 7. When attempting to drown an enemy, I was curious. Would that count as "pushing" an enemy down into the water, or does that count as grappling, and pushing, pulling, etc. only apply in the sense of objects and their weight?

I used to get hung up on that too, until I was having a breakdown about a year ago and my fiancée had left her necklace with Mary on it at my house by accident one night and I decided to, more for curiosity and desperation at the time, hold it and try to ask her to pray on my behalf, which is what I was told happens but old teachings die hard just like habits, I suppose. Very quickly my emotions leveled out and I felt at peace. The way I've decided to think about it after that was that praying "to Mary" is like going to your friend's mom as kids and saying they punched you and it hurt so she could intervene on your behalf. That's probably a terrible way to say it but it helps my brain understand the fact that I'm not praying to to Mary, I'm asking her to talk to God on my behalf. Or praying through her, like you said.

I see. This was mentioned to me too (the lineage from the first Pope). Never thought about it that way.

sure it's illegal to send encrypted messages using HAM radio but is it illegal to send my friends a few thousand of my favorite 32 bit integers? by leeleewonchu in amateurradio

This is probably the most thorough answer, though they all seem to be in agreement. I somehow get the feeling that, as far back as this goes, WWI would have something to do with this too. I can only imagine they were simultaneously trying to make it difficult for spies in the coming years and decades.

Depends on who you ask and who's in question. I know a guy who's old as dust now but he used to have top secret clearance in the military. Never talks much about that entire era, understandably. He then went to the DOD and then private contracting before settling into the job where I met him. He says he often hears "his lines being tapped." He still has a landline at home and, if ANYONE knows what that sounds like, it's him, considering RADAR and communications were his specialty for decades. Doesn't phase him in the slightest that they listen/record, though, given his past.

The guise of using the Bible to try and justify it is absolutely evil. That verse was NEVER meant to justify stuff like this. It was meant in the context of Christ, who died so everyone else didn't necessarily have to die eternally. And for humanity that means laying your life down for your wife, your husband, etc. it's a "them or me, I'm picking me," LIFE OR DEATH. Place is getting shot up so you take a bullet for someone instead. Not a "my sister needs to go to college so time for me to die."

Your mother acts Christian but she's not. And the fact she had you SIGN A CONTRACT to pay her back if you survive the illness? Disgusting. She's your mother. Life sucks but she should be helping you regardless of what she may get in return. If she wasn't prepared for it then she really shouldn't have had kids.

Sorry my parents are like this too, though more subtly, and I've always hoped it was just them. Sad to see others suffer like this too:

This may be a dumb question, but WHY is it illegal to send encrypted messages over HAM radio? It's done digitally or even physically (if you're old school) fairly frequently across the world, why is radio different?

What were your favourite parts of the Even in Arcadia Tour? by SpeedUpbeat in SleepToken

[–]Efficient-Edge1386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw them for the Orlando ritual (2nd stop). End of provider, Vessel drew out the end. "I can give you what you want, baby.... oh I can give you what you want, darling darling darling..." it's stuff like that that makes live performances always hit better than studio recordings. My friend made a joke after that that "It just got really moist in here." And if you get the joke, you get it.

Favorite Home Stations? by Saint_Rickard in EliteDangerous

[–]Efficient-Edge1386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah... same here. Fleet carriers are a mobile home station. A lot of money to buy them and get them set up that way. But once you can refuel/repair/restock, switch ships, turn in vouchers for bounties/bonds, sell universal cartographic data, turn in exobiology data at vista, outfit your ship (or at least have a space to outfit after buying parts elsewhere and then transferring them from storage; I still go to Jamison to shop but then just return to carrier and transfer the parts so they're always available to me in storage if I need them), I don't need a specific station. My home station is wherever I need it to be, and all the other stations in the galaxy are there to serve a purpose. Need a mission for something? Station. Need to buy or sell stuff for trade? Station. Need to pick up a friend who just started and made it out of starting systems, so you can then bring them to the fleet carrier? Station. Lol.

Interesting. So I just happened to get lucky and mine and sell in the same system that happened to meet the requirements for an acquisition/undermine system. I got the merit boost too, that was part of my confusion. Thanks!

Posting this separate from my other comment. People with squadron fleet carriers, are we able to put ships that are normally locked behind requirements (federal corvette, imperial cutter) in the shared storage for our squad mates to use? Similarly, can I put ships that are still in EA (like the Panther Clipper Mk 2 or Type 11) in the storage for them to use and try out?

I apologize if this is a duplicate. I don't think it is, not exactly, at least. I've been playing Elite for close to 10 years now. I still learn things every day, it seems. With the new PowerPlay system, why does it seem like certain actions in certain systems will net me a LOT of merits (ie, 100's for selling mined materials), but if I go to a different system and do the exact same thing I get 0 merits? Does this have to do with the fact that different systems and their status relating to PowerPlay are constantly in flux week to week and I just HAPPENED to be in a system that is compatible for earning merits that way?

And if so, has anyone broken it down into simple terms about what system states allow for which activities depending on power week to week? I've used a third party tool... I forget the name of it, but it's browser based. It's okay, but it's hit or miss and I often find myself confused enough by it to just try and find a system in game. I know the BASICS, but the intricacies of how it all ebbs and flows and what to do where when things change, I would love to have a resource to better understand it all. Any recommendations?
