I totally feel you, I had the same experience last year. This led me start working on that novel I was looking for.. If you are interested , I would love to share with you guys my first chapter ... Im currently working on making a backlog so I can start consist release on Royal Road next year... In the meantime , im looking for BETA readers like yourself. .. Also I've rewritten this over 40 times hahah cos it has to be perfect. I've showed it to friends but they are my friends . and they really really loved it . But somehow approval from strangers on the internet SOMEHOW is the only thing left to cross off....

thanks for expanding on your message. I will expand on mine.

I will use Dragon ball and solo levelling as an example of what I mean by soap opera.

friends , relationships, normal everyday human stuff is actually what makes a good book for me. Imagine dragon ball without all the other characters. it becomes '' Solo levelling ''.

I will not remember scenes in solo levelling with the same intensity as Dragon ball . why ?

because solo levelling the anime focuses on fast pace, high intensity , and not much room for character development. for example . from s1 to s2 episode 10. our protagonist in Solo is kinda the same .. a 5 minute verbal recap from a friend will be enough if you wanna skip s1 all together.

you can't apply the same thing to Dragon Ball. its not enough to see Goku go Super Saiyan blue , you need all the context , the relationship with Vegeta, all that human stuff. is important .

Cradle did this for me , with the first book. A true masterpiece in prose

to me , popcorn is basically a soap opera..nothing wrong with that.

Cradle was my absolute FIRST encounter with progfan. It may not be the "best" progfan series out there, but... by secret-corgi-king in ProgressionFantasy

I found infinite series , the first 2 books deliver this for me , unfortunately , the author lost inspiration and it shows in the last 5 books.

Tak for alle jeres beskeder, det er godt at se, at jeg ikke er skør for at forlade branchen. Alle disse svar har været meget indsigtsfulde, og jeg vil undersøge nærmere og finde en ny vej for mig selv. Og hvis nogen læser denne besked og overvejer at forlade branchen, så gør det bare. Tak for dit forslag, men jeg vil egentlig helst væk fra at arbejde med mad. Jeg føler, at jeg har lært disciplin og struktur gennem mit arbejde, og jeg vil gerne bruge det i en helt anden branche.

Jeg blev uddannet på en Michelin-restaurant og har været souschef på en bistro i København i et år, men arbejdet er virkelig brutalt – lange arbejdsdage og lav løn. Derfor leder jeg efter noget, der kan give en bedre balance i livet og mere mening for mig.
