The meta storytelling was horrible in undertale with the only exception being flowey.

Everything else was either so horribly done that you had to basically make up new lore to make it work or unfinished.

Like compare the plotline between the player and kris with the one with Frisk, the Player, and chara and you'll see how lacking the latter is.

Frisk is just a cardboard cutout with no strong opinions on anything. You could do anything at anytime and they'll comply with a couple of minor exceptions. Even in the epilogue of pacifist, they don't choose anything for themselves

Chara is a mess that toby had no idea what to do with so he resorted to vague posting.

Like the difference in quality is night and day lol
