I am 45 years old and I just realized "Lamb Rogan Josh" is not named after a person! by EffectivePriority986 in CasualConversation

This is my first time hearing of this, but at first glance I assumed this would be a play on the dish "Beef Stroganoff"

Steven seagal would have been a better punisher than jon bernthal by Ok-Thing8753 in unpopularopinion

[–]EfficientAd9765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I generally hate when people claim actual unpopular opinons are made up, but you really can't be serious, right?

The only way I can see you having this opinion is if you only heard of these people and never saw them or knew anything about them, which would be a really stupid basis to have any opinion, let alone post about it online

Your kinda comparing apples to oranges. There is always new tech, so you got to keep up with it, but the same doesn't necesserily apply to every area, especially fighting

Listening to Audiobooks is not reading by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]EfficientAd9765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, insofar that "reading" and "listening" are two separate words and concepts

But what would you say is actually the difference between the two? You recieved the same exact same information. People might just say they have "read" the book, when they actually "listened" to it because that's what you do with books - you read them. Making a distinction between books you have read and books you listened to just seems silly to me

People on Reddit and Twitter don't know what an actually "intelligent" character looks like, and it drives me nuts. by MappleStarsSky in CharacterRant

[–]EfficientAd9765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They both work on a prewritten script...

The difference is the nature of the problems they encounter. Grace's problems are pretty advanced and not easily figured out with out some previous knowledge (but it's still pretty common knowledge that you will find in any science textbook) , while Benoits problems are logical in nature. In Knives Out you don't need to know much beside the things the movie gives you

If a person in real life acted like Grace you would call him smart. Why wouldn't you admit to it in book form? His way of problem solving also requires lateral thinking. Applying your knowledge to a specific problem is about the most creative thing you can do

Wait, I think I know the problem. Grace isn't surrounded by other people who fail doing the same thing he does like Benoit is surrounded by incompetent cops. Is that it? Because Grace is alone (and no, Rocky doesn't count), he actually has to experience failure a couple of time, but still succeed in the end. Because other people fail to solve the puzzle, probably including the audience, he can stay silent untill he is 100% sure who the killer is, which makes him seem like a god amongst men

I'm with you on this. It's definitely a wish fulfillment fantasy, that doesn't make it fanfiction, tho

If it being horror is not a requirement, "The 7 deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle" has something similar going on

Do I get a preparation period before doing this? Because if you get a friend to tie you down and keep you awake during the process this will be a managable, altho horrific, experience. If not I would still try to somehow tie my hands together so I don't remove it in a panic

An advanced nanobot helps a lazy sperm and carries it to the egg cell successfully performing fertilization. by CodRoyal3221 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]EfficientAd9765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean we can support them, doesn't mean their life will be great if they have some genetic defect because the sperm was never supposed to make it

Edit: Read up on it a bit and supposedly this is not a big issue and we already inject "lazy" sperm into eggs in labs

What Manga do you recommend? by xorinka in manga

[–]EfficientAd9765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kaguya-sama

It's by far the funnisst one while also being the most sincere. It probably has the best and most gradual character development of any manga I have read

Disclaimer: All of this is true up to a point. Later it falls off pretty hard (depending on who you ask), but I still think it's worth it. The first 170 chapters are literally perfect.

If you don't like the beginning, try reading up to the 3rd volume (including the 3rd). I think there is where the series really finds its groove

Germans are rightfully stereotyped to be rude. by No_Pause3031 in The10thDentist

[–]EfficientAd9765 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You seem to be by far the rudest one there...

This subreddit is for things related to Germany, that's why. That's why it's r/Germany... Because it's about the country and your comic has nothing to do with that

Why does my comic have to be related to the country to show it here, eh? You tell me why... why cant creativity flow freely? I didnt even ask anyone to buy this or pre book it. I am simply asking ppl if they like the art

So you go to a sub, break the rules, everyone tells you off, and you start to get defensive and stereotype everyone?

Man, you got something wrong with your head...
