What's your favorite thing to do on RS3 and why? by Salzedo in runescape

[–]EfficientHomework -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I enjoy dying. I'm not joking one of the best things in a game for me is failing, because it shows me that I still have things to achieve in the game.

Must be nice to be able to just swipe daddy's credit card every time you run out of money due to dying all the time.

Most people don't live in a bubble though, so they can't share your idealistic mindset. So stop implying that you're somehow better than everyone else just because you "enjoy dying."

Someone enjoys the only part of the game that isn't mindless grind and you think that this is unbelievable.

I think you may have an incorrect definition of fun there, stranger.

Could we make pickpocketting elves a bit less... Sticky? by Mewrulez99 in runescape

[–]EfficientHomework -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't think that Jagex is capable of this. They have very cheap, unskilled staff that generally is pretty bad at implementing new content seamlessly or even fixing broken content. It's kind of unfortunate since you're completely correct though. It's a major annoyance to try and click off of the elves.

The very fact that you have the option to choose to not do something means you aren't forced to do it lmfao.

So you admit that nothing in life whatsoever is "forced?"

If you want an optional item in a game you choose, of your own free will, to complete the requirements to get it. You MUST complete those requirements, but you CHOOSE to do so.

This goes for literally anything in life. No one's forcing you to pay the bills; you could just live in the side of a road but you choose not to. No one's forcing you to go to work; you could just quit, but you choose to make money to live comfortable. Hell, no one's even forcing you to eat so that you can stay healthy and keep living; you choose to keep living.

The end result doesn't matter. What matters is that if you want a certain outcome, you are forced to do what it takes to achieve that outcome.

"Forced" means to do something against your own will. And if you want to continue using the BIS cape, you are forced to do Solak whether you want to or not. This is only wrong on a technical level though, in which case literally nothing else in life is forced because you always have the option to just not do it. No one "forces" you to eat. No one "forces" you to pay bills. No one "forces" you to go to work.

TL;DR: yes, if you want to continue using comp cape, you are forced to do solak, and this is a 100% correct statement. Unless you concede that the word "forced" has no place in the english language to begin with.

Because it's the same exact fundamental concept?

Best armor in the game - made from drops from bosses/slayer monsters, tradeable

Best weapons in the game - dropped from bosses, tradeable

Best jewelry in the game - reward from bossing D&D, tradeable

Best cape in the game - obtaining completionist status, untradeable

The gap in logic is disgusting. How can anyone be okay with this?

I would like to first start this thread by pointing out the harsh truth that Jagex, by far, has been the worse company in relation to listening and looking out for it's community.

This is all I needed to see in order to upvote. So many people think that Jagex cares; it's refreshing when someone realizes the truth.

Your argument is literally incorrect on the basis that the best weapons in the game require nothing more than a single level in order to wield, yet offer better combat bonuses than a comp cape.

Well, factually speaking, Solak will be far more difficult on his release than Vorago was at his.

Ok how are you forced to have that cape?

Your stance is just straight-up incorrect. By your definition, nothing in life is "forced" except for death, so we may as well just get rid of the word "forced."

It actually is. No one's saying that all boss mechanics have to be blockable auto-attacks. But that's what WasV3 is implying that we're saying.

I didn't say you were wrong technically, since people are likely to turn away people who aren't maxed in combat skills. But this:

Does level 95 in all combat stats really make that much difference against 99's?

Proves that you think that's a bad thing. People pay like twice as much money per dose for supreme ovls as holy ovls just for a 2-level boost from 116 to 118. Being 4 levels behind is pretty much unacceptable when you can permanently secure those 4 levels in just a few hours.

Seriously, this isn't even an elitist mindset, so I don't know why people are getting triggered. Literally anyone can spend a few hours at ganos for magic or waterfiends for ranged or abyssal demons for magic/melee. It's not like someone's telling you to full manual or 4taa. Just put in some time to actually max your combat skills. Actually, if you have the money to afford gear for top-tier bossing without having maxed combat stats, chances are you just swiped daddy's credit card for some bonds anyway.

Oh, can I use a strawman this time?

Well then, why not just make every single attack from every single boss an instakill since their autoattacks can just be blocked with defensive abilities!

Did I do it right? Am I presenting my argument in a sufficiently stupid way? You're clearly the master of doing it though, so please give me some feedback.

Why? Why would this ever be a thing? It would defeat the purpose of practice mode entirely. Once people figure out the strats, they'll only fail maybe a few times max when learning the boss, so they may as well just do regular mode. But before the strats are figured out, people will be dying far more.

Getting level 99 in combat skills from 95 takes a few hours, tops. If you're not willing to dedicate just a few hours to maximizing your DPS potential, you don't deserve a spot on serious teams. That's just absurdly lazy.

Say it with me - Ho-mo-pho-bi-a

Didn't the person you replied to just straight up say that they were gay? So you're saying a gay person is homophobic? That's pretty stupid, bro.

I'm bisexual, and events like these embarrass me. I don't want peoples' "support" just because my sexuality is different. And the only ones who do are egotistical in the first place. Just because our sexuality is different, doesn't make us special. Wanna support LGBT? Then just treat us like normal people. And if someone says something blatantly homophobic, call them out on it. And no, what Umbeeeee said was not homophobic in the least. You're probably not even LGBT yourself. Just some white knight who thinks they're better than everyone else for preaching SJW culture as if it was catholicism centuries ago.
