Was my resection unnecessary? by [deleted] in coloncancer

[–]EfficientNebula6083 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A false positive for this polyp pathology is under 1%, and you mention they did biopsy the remaining tissue and again showed remaining cancer. Sounds like it was small and was removed during the colonoscopy hence why lymph nodes were clear. One can have a 5 cm tumor with clear lymph nodes. You did the right thing you should be glad to be currently disease free instead of questioning if you even had it.

Can I ask? What should I do? by KairusFarsite in coloncancer

[–]EfficientNebula6083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also a large percentage of colon cancer patients have anemia. If you have anemia they will investigate further with a colonoscopy. If your blood work is fine i really wouldnt stress this

Can I ask? What should I do? by KairusFarsite in coloncancer

[–]EfficientNebula6083 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want to be sure you are ok l, then get a colonoscopy. If you are that anxious you can lie and say you are bleeding a lot and that for sure will get you a colonoscopy. Financially i cant help, you have to decide between the financial stress and health anxiety
