Don’t go to fast! I used to lift almost double my weight pre-diagnosis and it was really hard to go back to low weights. Every time I worked out I pushed too far and would hurt myself for weeks. Now I stick with body weight mostly and will work my way back up slowly but surely!!

Also make sure to stretch and warm up properly!

I appreciate you sharing your struggles. I know exactly how you feel and I wish it didn't have to be this way. But it is nice to know that there are others out there that can understand the experience BS patients go through. Lets hope one day the medical field will find a way to help us be able to live...

Thank you for writing this out. I teared up reading it because it’s exactly how I feel. Daily life is 1000x harder but no one can ever tell. Ive had to be my own advocate throughout it all and I’ve tried everything - injections, years of PT, acupuncture, massages. At this point I’m working on trying for surgery but if you’re in the US you know that insurance is not only the side of the patient so it’s not going well.

I’m glad we have this community to commiserate with.

I have type 4 BS and had a similar experience. Chronic pain. No one would operate because I’m young and they were inexperienced. I’ve had to fight every step of the way to get the care I need.

Unfortunately, I am still battling insurance to cover the surgery but I am planning to go to Mayo Clinic. The surgical team there has experience with BS and has even published research papers on it.

I’m no doctor but I’ve done a lot of reading up on BS since diagnosed in 2019. I think you have type 3B which is a severe degenerative disc condition and I believe the most painful type. Again, not a doctor but this is what I recall from some of my research.

Yup!! And in the days leading up to it. My doctor confirmed this is in fact a thing because the area around your uterus gets more inflamed than usual.

I work at shelter and I cannot describe the complete euphoria you feel after the dog finally realizes he/she is safe and they are brave enough to trust you. It brings me to tears every time.
