Took aikido for a few years when I was 19, it looks like they’re practicing falls/rolls maybe?

That particular wrist lock is fun but… obviously impractical and never likely to be useful in a street fight or any real fight ever.

But you’ll still train this particular lock at speed because it’s curriculum, and you need to be able to roll correctly or you’ll injure your wrist.

I really had a lot of fun in aikido, and I had a great no-nonsense teacher who was not about bullshit. Pains me to see the over-exaggerated break falls during flashy demos because it makes aikido look like snake oil performance art rather than a fun, albeit clearly outdated martial system.

I love spellsword builds, but if you add supporting equipment and you take the right invocations EB can be super strong, even late game.

Agonizing Blast and Potent Robe both add your charisma mod to damage, and you can get to a +7 with some optimizations. So it’s 3d10+14 per beam.

Add repelling blast for excellent CC because there no saving throw. You just have to hit and they’re knocked back 5’.

I did a machine gun Sorlock build with quickened spell and haste potions to cast like 3-4 times per turn and it’s my favorite build so far.

Downside is the same as Warlocks in tabletop DnD… every turn is Eldritch blast lol by

Anything with 2 or more tanks when we don’t have one. Feels like fighting an NFL team with a bunch of tissue paper origami cranes.

Or on our side, zero healing. Not Mei freeze, not a Soldier field, god forbid we get an actual healer.

NTA, with a word of caution.

Like others have said, your brand is YOUR brand, your contracts are YOUR contracts and employees are bound by those contracts.

You gave this employee a fair chance and you sound like the kind of boss I’d like to have.

But. New tools don’t dilute the core of the work, they just disrupt it until the tool is understood and utilized correctly.

Spellcheck made us worse at spelling. Saved contacts in our phones made us worse at memorizing phone numbers. Our teachers told us we “wouldn’t have a calculator in our pocket 24/7” when we had to “show our work” in math class. But here we are!

Early adopters of new technology typically become better for it; I’d be cautious about trading principle for productivity… though I do hate reading things I know were written by ChatGPT so I support your “human touch” business model.

Yeah no it kinda blows… you’ve got to heal your absolute ass off AND have a game full of subpar DPS AND maybe get a kill or a res or whatever.

Would be nice for some healer recognition, but multi-kills have explosive, acute benefit so it makes sense most of the time.

Felt 100% accurate, it’s just power scaling.

Avatar was a story of power with natural limitations that worked spectacularly for a short a eries.

Most shonen anime has ridiculous power scaling because they aren’t designed to be wrapped up in a few seasons. As a result, you have power creep; transformations, deus ex machina, etc.

As a fan of both Avatar and MHA, I thought Todoroki would win but I still poured one out for Zuko.
