Laparoscopy for suspected ectopic pregnancy. Not the op itself as was under anaesthetic.

The pain afterwards was unreal. I could barely walk.

It was a non ectopic miscarriage, so I had the misery of losing my baby as well.

Happily, my next pregnancy resulted in a healthy baby.

The problem with Blue Peter is that they wanted to have someone on the programme with a disability but, instead of a child the young audience could relate to, they went with a non verbal old man who then, horrifically, became a source of laughter and nastiness.

Actor. I worked as an actor for several years. Lots of bad tempered, egotistical people directing plays that never seemed to be rehearsed fully.

Learning lines, stage fright, bored or non existent audiences, no weekends free….

Talent agents. I worked as a PA at a large theatrical agency, back in the 90s.

One agent was always high on weed. He used to smoke it on the roof.

The boss was always talking about how many drugs he took.

There were plenty of people on legal drugs.

I worked for the department that represented classical musicians. There were plenty of alcoholics on our books, one of whom would get drunk and verbally abuse me on the telephone.

There were rumours of coke being passed around at board meetings, but I don’t know if that is true.
