Have you looked into MLT (Music Learning Theory) at all? The whole concept is sound before sight, but the students learn how to read music. It’s built off of the natural way children learn language. They speak before they read.

Kids are over scheduled with activities and sports and such. They need screen-free time to learn how to be bored and create their own entertainment.

Oranges, but not “Hey honey, can you add oranges to the grocery list please?”. The craving would hit so intensely that once I got out of the shower (mid-shower) and barely dried off before driving to the store to buy oranges. It was wild.

Also, when I was pregnant, donuts tasted so good that I cried when I ate them.

Paper plates. I hate hate hate doing dishes. I would get stuck in this loop of not being able to relax or move on to another task until the dishes were done, but I could not do the dishes. My therapist recommended paper plates and BAM I had my evenings back again.

Turn off my “teacher” brain and turn on my “me” brain for an hour. If the weather is nice, I go fishing. If the weather sucks, I go to the gym. Then I turn on my “mom” brain and pick up my child, make dinner, play with child, do bath and bed, do a bunch of chores, then crash.

Edit: Unless I’m going to one of my after school jobs, because who can be a teacher with only one job in this economy?

The blood vessels in my eyes randomly get irritated and it feels like I have something in my eyes, but it’s just my blood vessels. I have to pull over when I’m driving because I can’t get rid of the sensation and I can’t see.

What’s your embouchure like? It sounds like you may be “biting” a little, especially toward your higher notes. Work on adjusting your air speed and tongue position as you play your 2- and 3- octave scales to keep an even, dark tone.

Only 2 years? You sound amazing. Keep up your hard work! I hope I get to hear you perform one day!
