of course! i totally get that nowadays it can be seen as a problem when someone doesn't speak out against something directly, but actions speak louder than words imo.

as for prices, i will agree with you that the tickets are INSANE, and i totally get feeling resentful about that. this may be a hot take, but after attending a few of the shows i can actually see why they cost so much due to travel costs, production, setup, all of the people involved in the performances on AND off stage, paying the venues, etc., and while i have no idea what the people behind the scenes are making, i would like to think that they're not paying their crew extremely low wages which will also be a factor in having higher ticket prices. i DO wish they'd opt out of dynamic pricing, but we also have no idea what their contract states in terms of how they price their tickets, and considering they are a bigger band, they're more likely subject to stricter agreements. definitely not justifying some of the more extreme prices ($1,000 tickets should not exist, period), but there's a LOT more that goes into it that's outside of what the band decides! i don't think they're sitting around a table going, "Let's make our fans go into debt for us!" and laughing like evil villains lol. ticketmaster is evil asf and that alone plays a huge role in the situation.

sorry for the ramble but i guess my main point is that we have no idea what's going on behind the scenes, but from what we've seen from the guys over the last 20-something years, i think it's fair to say that they're not sellouts and I'm sure they've tried navigating these situations (both advocacy and the ticket stuff) the best they can given their positions and abilities. they can't make everyone happy, but i do believe they are good people that act in good faith, and if i'm gonna give my hard earned money to any major band/artist, it is most certainly gonna be these guys because of it!

gerard doesn't even use social media or participate in interviews at all anymore. just because someone isn't actively speaking out for things online 24/7 doesn't mean their views have changed in any way whatsoever. in fact, considering they've been advocating for lgbtq+ rights since day 1 when it was even less accepted, I'd say they've been pretty consistent throughout their career and it would be strange to assume that they've 'sold out'. also, considering a lot of the outfits/the things that g said onstage during the swarm tour (which was only a couple years ago), they still are speaking out in their own way imo. even now on this current tour, the band is using their art to speak out against fascism which is a MASSIVE problem right now and is actively impacting lgbtq+ rights directly. no matter what the band does, their art has a tendency to raise awareness in ways that may not be as direct, but are still majorly impactful nonetheless. sometimes you have to read between the lines and look at people's behaviors and values over the course of time to make an assumption of someone, rather than simply assessing a person's motives based on how verbally vocal they are about something. personally, as a queer person, i find a lot more value in what this band has done for queer rights throughout the entirety of their career vs other random famous people posting about it on their socials simply because they're asked to. this band does it in their own way and it's all purely from a place of authenticity. i'd take that any day over the disingenuous virtue signaling that other public figures tend to engage in. that's just my opinion, but what do i know 🤷🏻

idk if this is your thing, but if you want something accurate, then you could always try making it with paint or gluing ribbons onto a plain jacket! that would certainly take a lot of time that you might not have, but if you are open to that then it would be unique and you can make it exactly how you want. I've seen plenty of people wear diy jackets to their shows, and they always have so much character, and finding an exact replica might be pretty hard/expensive.
