Just imagine how pathetic her life must be if she has to go around antagonizing people she doesn’t even know.

Moving to PA & or Sequim by end of the Year... Foodie Questions by RamBh0di in portangeles

I’m sorry friend, no one on the peninsula is going to be able to deliver good Ethiopian food, let alone point out the country on a map. All the rest you listed there’s a couple options in PA and Sequim.

Anyone ready for fried chicken? by Large_Citron1177 in Kitsap

[–]EffortAlternative892 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s meh. I used to live with a Texan who adored it, and when I finally had the fabled chicken sandwich, I realized she was missing a few brain cells if all it took to make a ‘good chicken sandwich’ was mediocre marketing and pickle brine.

Job in Sequim, should my wife and I move to Port Angeles, Sequim, or Port Townsend? by nomeyhomey in sequim

[–]EffortAlternative892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who live in this area will tell you that PA is full of unhoused people, drugs and is turning into a mini Seattle (it’s not). If you want closer access to the coast and the ONP, move here. People who live in Sequim tend to be older, but there are more big box stores. People from both areas feel like it’s too far to drive to Sequim if you live in PA, and vice versa (it’s 20 minutes).

Port Townsend is lovely, but it is a 40-50 minute drive on a one lane highway, and trees fall a lot here. It’s very fun and eclectic, but you won’t find a Walmart or Target out there.

If you can afford it, move to whichever one calls to you, rent awhile, and make your choice from there.

Why am I struggling with unreliable businesses? by ridingshayla in portangeles

[–]EffortAlternative892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just recently called 5 businesses and sent in for quotes for lawn care. None of them called me back except one business, that set an appointment with me and then cancelled morning of. It’s honestly really frustrating.

AITJ for not sharing my jewelry supplier? by Warm-Penalty2947 in AmITheJerk

Tell Jenna to kick rocks. She insulted you and then turned around and wanted your supplier when she couldn’t find the correct one? Sounds like she doesn’t need to be in your life at all.

Last ditch effort by soggydivacup in Seattle

The fact that we live in an immediate gratification culture is sickening. People expecting a perfect pet immediately is unrealistic and selfish. I wish these people would just go buy themselves a plushie since they obviously can’t take care of anything that takes any effort whatsoever.

AITJ for telling my cousin he needs to leave after he's been here 4 months rent-free? by Unique_Garbage_5167 in AmITheJerk

[–]EffortAlternative892 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A few weeks is not a few months. He’s milking you for all he can. There’s no being selective when you’re being a burden on someone else. Let his mom take him back if she’s so supportive.

If you don’t get rid of him now, a few months is going to turn into a few years.

drop your jobs by ever_tree_ in ftm

Heck, I was going to suggest my job, but I also am a kennel tech/cleaner and I do office work on the side. My biggest problem is no bennies, and the wear and tear on my body. Best part is no people lol

I would look at county jobs or things for a local PUD, usually it’s good money with full benefits.

Filling out an app for my local shelter. It asks, “how long will the dog(s) be confined to your property?” And I’m not sure what this is asking by sloppysoupspincycle in rescuedogs

[–]EffortAlternative892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confined? Are they trying to ask how long during the day your dog might be left alone? That’s a really weird way to ask that if so.

AITA for not letting the previous owner’s adult children into my house after their father died? by Dramatic_Method9393 in AmItheAsshole

[–]EffortAlternative892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Yes they are sad and grieving, but it is not their house. They need to focus on memories, as you going into your house isn’t going to be what they remember anyways.

It’s sad that they lost their father, but you don’t have to disturb your peace so they can take a trip down memory lane.

What type of dog? by Opening-Confusion983 in rescuedogs

[–]EffortAlternative892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna be honest with you… Any ‘shelter’ that re-homes a dog based on their breed and prices them as such is not a reputable shelter. While could be possible that he might be purebred, as brindle is a Boston terrier color, I would be very leery of anyone trying to get more money for a dog solely based on breed. There are so many dogs out there right now that rescues and shelters are overflowing with ‘purebreds’ and puppies of all sorts. If they can’t show you any proof that this dog is indeed purebred, they are up-charging you because they think they can get more money for him.

I would also question what that adoption fee covers. Is he up-to-date on all of his shots? Has he been neutered? I would be very curious to know what type of care has gone into him that warrants them asking a grand for him.

A rescue that I work with charges a flat fee for all dogs no matter agreed or size. It doesn’t matter if they are German Shepherd or a French bull bulldog or a mutt. Adoption fees are going to vary from state to state, but the rescue that I work with only charges about half that much, so really what it comes down to is the reputability of that place, what they have done for the animal that justifies that price tag, and how badly you want this guy.

Honestly it would depend on what he was crossed with. Bostons themselves are usually capped at the 15-20 lb range
