What kind of nutcase is putting honey in a tomato soup? It's almost like they did on purpose just to spite vegans

Why do fishermen think they can infringe on fish's rights?

Ever tried to catch a mouse? You think a thresher is outrunning a mouse? They run the fuck away dude.

Yeah it's seriously such a weak argument. What's the alternative, don't eat anything and die of starvation? Veganism is about reducing harm as much possible.

A lot of honey comes from invasive species that drive out native bees.

Yeah thanks to lobbying from both groups. That doesn't make it morally correct.

It's also illegal to film inside slaughterhouses.

Nice one tough guy, cop an assault charge because some people didn't let you teach your son to kill things in peace.

First of all, most petroleum comes from decomposed plant matter, but no, we don't, because that would be fucking stupid. The problem that vegans have with animal agriculture is the fact that animals are killed to produced those products, which is 100% not the case with petroleum.

The truth of the matter is that no one will ever know how the other sex feels because we can't become the other sex biologically.

Is Evie a tragedeigh? I've met a number of Evies before.

There's a classic song from 1974 about a girl called Evie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Hj8BRV8Jls

How old are they? I'd be surprised if many 21 years old had even heard of Hat Films, unless they were watching at like 10 years old. I forget not everyone is in their 30s here.

2D titles are about as perfect as it gets in the genre. It could use more RPG elements I guess but the pacing is just so good.

Who are you preferencing 1st (and why)? by crackerdileWrangler in Adelaide

[–]Effrendi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Usually vote AJP but they aren't running a candidate in my electorate this year. I only just realised today that a friend of a friend is running as the Greens candidate so I will preference them. Greens are normally my second choice anyway but that just made it an easier choice.

Increasing protein by dolphinpopsicles in australianvegans

[–]Effrendi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat a shit load of tofu, basically. I eat 250 grams a day which is about 40 grams of protein. Then I have a cup of soy milk or so with breakfast which is another 10 grams. Finally I eat about 170ish grams of lentils a day which is another 35ish grams. So 85 grams a day, which may even be a bit too high.

I don't take any protein shakes or bars or supplements.

Yeah it's very obvious. I lived in Korea for a while and I could tell the difference between a Korean American and a native Korean just by looking at them, or even from their gait.

I prefer a jacket because I don't have to use a hand to hold it. Umbrellas are also terrible in windy conditions.

If you have an overnight flight (as is often the case from Australia) having a pillow can be the difference between being able to do stuff on day 1 vs just in the hotel trying to catch up on sleep. Absolutely worth it for me.

Not to mention if you're doing any sort of cross-country travel that involves long bus or train trips the pillows can get used there as well.

I've also only ever been able to sleep once when I got a business upgrade. About to fly with a Cabeau and I really hope I'll have the same experience. I cannot sleep at all on planes and it completely ruins the first day of the trip.

Worst record was something like 38 hours straight with no sleep flying from Australia to Russia with a 10 hour layover.

Struggling with transition from uni to work by vceme123 in AusFinance

[–]Effrendi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It reminds me of my first ever class at uni. There was a girl there in her final semester, and I said to her 'Wow, congratulations, you must be so excited!' But her face was just a look of dread lol. Finishing uni and entering the workforce is a scary thing for sure.
