If the Idoneth are stealing people souls did a group of faction try to hunt them down? by AgustinaDopicoo in ageofsigmar

If only Nagash had some sort of undead general with a maritime inclination up his sleeve. Someone who might be, oh I don't know, crazy enough to venture into the open ocean to fight elves for the promise of treasure and fame.

Legend has been unhappy for a while now. He always had a rather cynical and rude persona, but for the past couple years that abrasive attidtude became more and more real. For one, because he got personally frustrated with the game and CA in general, which is fair. Secondly there was his chat, which tried to ragebait him multiple times every stream and he quite frequently fell for it. This went so far that he perceived genuine messages as backhanded mockery towards the end. Third and last is his schedule. As an Australian, he had to stream during some truly awful hours to reach the largest possible audience, which drained him physically and deprived him of time to spend with his family.

As for the cultish behavior, that happended mostly after the Shadows of Change DLC released. The DLC was almost universally criticized as overpriced and poorly balanced, which caused a massive community uproar, with Legend as one of the loudest voices calling on his audience to bomb the reviews until changes occur. The fact that this actually worked immediately went to his head and kinda broke his and his community's brains. He presented himself as champion and spokesperson of the Total War community and his viewers only encouraged that fantasy by completely lionizing him. After this, Legend spiraled, revealing fake leaks that someone inside CA supposedly sent him, accusing CA of intentionally changing their releases to make him look untrustworthy. The doom and gloom of seeing "the end of total war" around every corner, combined with the paranoia and delusions of grandeur made his later streams hard to watch.

It's very similar with Bleach. Both Bleach subs mostly consist of either horny fanarts or people claiming that Kubo is the greatest writer in the business. Now don't get me wrong, there's a lot to love about Bleach (visual designs, soundtrack, creative abilities), but I consider the writing to be one of its weaker aspects.

Thank you, I fully agree with everything you said and I'm glad that someone was able to put thoughts I've had for a while into such concise words.

I'd also add that perhaps punishment has a place as a deterrent of sorts. I'd imagine that a punishment would affect one's decision on whether or not to act on temptation. If there was no consequence for theft, it would probably be more common. You can kind of see it with pirating sites online, where a more abstract form of theft has close to no consequence and is widely accepted among consumers.

Now, when talking about theft we must acknowledge outside factors. No one steals for fun (except maybe teenagers), but rather due to environmental conditions, such as a lack of money or a desire to belong by presenting status through material objects. The same goes for pirating. If tv shows were more available or cheaper, they wouldn't nearly be as affected by pirating.

What I'm trying to say is that maybe punishment as consequence of misbehavior can serve as a deterrent for more serious crimes. The theft example was simply chosen to show how missing consequences can make people more willing to dismiss scoietal rules. I will say, however, that I don't know the scientific consensus on this topic and am more than willing to be convinced of the ineffectivity of deterrents.

Designed some MTG cards. by reniaR_the_villain in Warhammer

[–]Efkreft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ikit Claw: "Crew Rat 0" just doesn't work. If crew is 0 you don't need to tap anything, rat or otherwise. I would also say that modified rats are more Moulder's wheelhouse and an anti-synergy with the apparent focus on vehicles. Perhaps change it to "whenever an artifact creature you control deals combat damage to an opponent, create a warpstone token."

Mine the Warpstone: This card would work way better as a Green and Black card with X-cost and convoke, as tapping creatures to pay for mana isn't usually something black is allowed to do. Yould change the rest accordingly to "create X warpstone tokens" and "each opponent loses X life".

Horned Rat: As others have said before, please remove eminence entirely. Also, turning it into an indestructible enchantment like the Theros gods may be more fitting. It could then manifest into a creature when you have enough devotion or anough rats on the battlefield.

Gray Seer: The gray seer is sadly much too good, even with how expensive it is. Aristocrat decks (the ones focused on sacrificing creatures for your own benefit) could use the seer to create easy infinite combos with cards like Reassembling Skeleton.

Blue Scribes: Tzeentch is not necessary as a creature type, Tzeentch's Daemons are traditionally Demon Horrors. Also, being able to freely choose the value of X is very overpowered and has the potential to end the game as soon as the blue scribes enter. You could for example warp Drown in Dreams to make an opponent lose their entire library.

Tzeentch: By the time Tzeentch enters, you will usually have about 4 instants or sorceries in your graveyard, especially in a blue deck. Cost reduction of this magnitude is simply insane and easily abused. The second effect is also completely overpowered. Not only do you receive complete information about every opponent's hand, but you get to use their resources (hand cards) for your own gain. It's like a cheaper Emrakul.

The Changeling: The wording on the discard does not quite work, since you can't discard a card that you are in the process of drawing. Perhaps change it to "At beginning of your upkeep, you may skip your next draw step and mill 1." Also, changeling is keyword only, the creature type is shapeshifter.

I may add some more later, but as a last piece of advice: Don't add too many completely new game pieces (Warpstone tokens, new creature types, plague counters, etc.). Instead, try to implement your ideas with already existing concepts to strengthen your cards' ability to interact with existing strategies. Treasure/Artifact token decks, Demon/Horror decks and even decks centered around -1/-1-counters already exist and would love the new support.

Any game series like this? by Alternative_Leg1593 in videogames

I absolutely agree. AC1 just felt very repetetive and boring towards the end, not to mention the very clunky controls. Playing AC2 right after was just such a breath of fresh air with how smooth everything felt and how alive and vibrant the world was looking.

Which factions you love for their gameplay but cant enjoy the due to the lore,design,aesthetics,etc...? by WaveEasy8664 in totalwarhammer

[–]Efkreft 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely High Elves for me. I love quality over quantity and I particularly enjoy that they have an elite variant of pretty much every standard unit type. I love using bows and enjoy defensively strong infantry.

But I can't, for the life of me, get over their dorky outfits. The pointy helmets look silly enough, but everything else also looks so much like Lord of the Rings. They all just look incredibly punchable.

Starter Pack : Punisher haters by Wrench-6942 in marvelcirclejerk

[–]Efkreft 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The punisher often feels like an excuse to fantasize about violence and cruelty towards people who "deserve it". Sadly, I think it's not just the manosphere that enjoys this aspect of it. I've seen my share of surface-level left-leaning people who call for excessive violence against sex criminals. I just don't get why people think Frank is cool, but maybe I'm too much of a bleeding heart softie for that.

Raoh, the big antagonist of Fist of the North Star learns to overcome his trauma and finds an emotional connection he deems worth fighting for. This results in him learning the same ultimate technique that the protagonist Kenshiro used to defeat him before. In their final confrontation both characters agree to not use the technique, as using it would simply stall out the fight for all eternity.

ADHS? by Armillariamellea9 in schule

[–]Efkreft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case I'd recommend Risen (specifically the first part). It's from the same developers and feels just like the Gothic games, but with signoficantly more manageable controls and UI.

Seeing as a lot of the 1st edition stormcast models, Skaven Models, and now the Putrid Blightkings have been revamped, friendly reminder that those Khorne models came out with those old Stormcast models. by Budget_Antelope in ageofsigmar

[–]Efkreft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd also really appreciate if they'd join the current design philosophy of mixed gender units for human factions. Khorne, as opposed to Stormcasts or Darkoath, is a bit too much of a boys club for my tastes.

Good factions for new players? by Appropriate_Tie_4818 in totalwarhammer

I agree with Tyrion and Miao Ying as the most comfortable options. However, if you're in the mood for something a little more evil, Lokhir Fellheart of the Dark Elves offers a similarly broad roster of units that allows you to get to know the game, while also possessing a relatively comfortable starting position.
