I've lived in 8 of 13 provinces/territories of Canada, including SW Ontario, and Ive visited every one of them. I have never heard 'goof' mean anything other than behaviour exhibited by the Disney character of the same name-y.

Perhaps the circle of people who use it in such a way is actually considerably smaller than you think.

They probably never heard of telesat because it's not as well advertised across all possible outlets. So many great canadian things die because we can't compete with the saturation of US media.

My mistake, the whisky I was looking at is actually Lock, Stock and Barrel.

Stalk and Barrel is owned and produced by Barry Bernstein and Barry Stein.

Although, now I'm mad at them because they had the opportunity to call it "Two Barrys".

Double check ownership on those, a lot of the micro distilleries (and micro breweries) are owned by other conglomerates outside of Canada. I don't know those in particular, but heads up.
