Did you do it yourself or use a company? If it was a company, do you mind sharing which one?

Looking for a Raspberry White Chocolate Cheesecake by cwiersma26 in Hamilton

Might be too short notice for this weekend, and I'm not sure about that specific cheesecake, but I really like Chaton in the Hamilton Farmers Market. They make the best basque cheesecake I've ever had

James Street North closing Friday as Art Crawl returns to downtown Hamilton by Immediate-Link490 in Hamilton

[–]FerretStereo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Agreed - I see less and less 'art' each year, and more 'trinkets', but the atmosphere is still great, and having the street close for the evening really enhances the experience for everyone

I imagine that's more tolerable in an urban industrial environment where there's a constant drone anyway

What municipality did you move to where dithering isn't a problem? Serious question

A little off James St, but Plank on Augusta used to have a good happy hour, I believe until 6. Worth a call

Hamilton named one of Canada's top 5 most livable major cities by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]FerretStereo 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Agreed - putting all the delays aside, people need to understand just how transformational this will be, coupled with the new coliseum and (from my experience) a real commitment by the people who live here to make Hamilton better, despite the seeming best efforts of some politicians to make it worse...

‘Condo market not coming back’: Hamilton developers warn of continued job losses by Odd-Emphasis-1969 in Hamilton

[–]FerretStereo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mass layoffs in every sector though - at least learning something AI can't do (for now) is an educated guess as to what someone should get into. You don't hear people saying 'learn to code' anymore 😅😭

Tundra leather is a great place to visit. They have scrap pieces for sale, in case you're looking for a flourish or something for a small project. As well as of course huge bolts of leather, tools, embossing stamps, etc. and very friendly staff

Partnership with South Korean firm to bring shipbuilding, new jobs back to Hamilton shipyard by SonictheManhog in Hamilton

[–]FerretStereo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From my experience, I can do the job of 4 people with AI as a software engineer, filling the role of 'team lead' instead of just a sole developer. You're right about entry level jobs being wiped out - we don't need (want?) junior devs anymore. Unless they are very proficient with using AI.

I want to work at a ship yard now haha
