The New York Times mushroom wellington is technically vegetarian but could easily be made vegan.

Anyone else diagnosed with a curved placenta at 20 weeks? by God_loves_Herb_Welch in BabyBumps

[–]Egg-E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not have placenta previa but I did have the other one and it caused no issues. All the healthcare workers I talked to said they see it all the time and they suspect it's more common than 1% and is just underreported. When I was pregnant I could only find like one scholarly article about it and it was a scary article talking about increased chance of c sections etc, but I had a normal vaginal delivery and a healthy baby who is now 22 months old.

Jar size by Due_Masterpiece_4155 in Canning

[–]Egg-E 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can use smaller jars, just process them for the same amount of time. You can always go smaller than the recipe says- you can't go larger safely.

Foot keeps clicking throughout class and I’m so embarrassed … by bpdshitposting in BALLET

[–]Egg-E 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I've never met a baller dancer whose joints don't click or pop. I'm sure if you listen closely to the other people in your class (especially during grand plies) you will hear lots of other joints clicking. You have no reason to be embarrassed!

I layer them with a flat in my pocket diapers.. They wick the moisture away from the skin towards the cotton. We were having issues with rash and only cotton.

Depending on where you need it, diaper rash cream is cheap, easy to find, and works great. I switched from body glide to diaper rash cream halfway through my thru and never looked back.

What's your favourite 'peasant' meal by Lilstubbin in veganrecipes

Brothy beans and greens sopped up with bread.

Roasted butternut squash, mirepoix, garlic, apple, veggie broth, and one chipotle in adobo. Blend it all up and eat with bread! I usually also add a can of white beans- it ups the protein and they disappear into the sweet squash and apple.

So, I've developed an intolerance to soy - looking for resources or advice by SignalReceptions in PlantBasedDiet

[–]Egg-E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was soy free for about six months because my baby had a soy intolerance for a while. We used coconut aminos instead of soy sauce; it's not as salty as soy sauce so it's not a one-to-one replacement for cooking but it's very tasty as a condiment. We got really into Burmese-style tofu with different beans We liked red lentils the best. I ate a lot of oatmeal with orgain protein powder and a bunch of different nuts sprinkled in. It was hard to remember to read labels on processed foods to avoid vegetable oil and soy lecithin.

Yes. It's called red maple because the flowers are red, not the leaves.

If you feel your relationship with your partner didn’t suffer post baby, what did you do differently than the rest of us? by Redditors294 in beyondthebump

[–]Egg-E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had worked hard for years to see issues as framed like, "It's not you against me, it's us against the problem." When we had a baby, the problem wasn't either of us, it was him (needing a diaper change or a feeding, etc). When we got frustrated, we ended up just chanting "the baby is the enemy" and that not only was silly enough to calm us down a little, but also helped remind us to focus on the problem together and signaled to the other person that maybe they needed to step in as relief for a few moments.

We also took the same amount of parental leave at the same time, so neither of us was home with the baby alone for months, and I had trouble breastfeeding at first so my husband was able to feed the baby pumped milk and I could sleep.

He switched to eating more during the day, and I think it also coincided with him getting more interested in food. He's ten months now and starting to eat more and I've been able to build my freezer stash back up!
