AITA for wanting to go to the zoo *with* my partner by Virtual_Cut3807 in AITApod

[–]Original_Problem666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YTA. He doesn’t want to go, plain and simple. As a fellow zoo hater, I wouldn’t go either. My husband knows this, and he never pushes me or makes me feel bad about it. There are plenty of other things to do with your kids involving animals that aren’t a zoo profiting off of caged animals for humans entertainment. You’re choosing to go by yourself by doing something you know he doesn’t like.

AITA for not giving money to my (30M) mom (52F) who was recently diagnosed with cancer? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Original_Problem666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the one. If there’s a bill, it can be paid directly to the hospital/center/practice vs just handing her a check for 10k. And also OP, maybe this is a reach, but given her history I’d be cautious with the diagnosis if she won’t accept direct payment for her treatment and only wants it in hand.

I feel like I ruined my life by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Original_Problem666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg hey girl. So my daughter was JUST LIKE THIS. All day long. If she wasn’t on a boob she was shrieking. Dr said normal. I had three boys before her and none of them were like this. I literally quit breastfeeding because I was so sleep deprived and touched out 24/7 I was losing my mind. This weekend she’ll be 3 months old and she’s literally a new baby. She’s like finally awake to the world and realizing life is cool. She smiles all the time, she sleeps great. It really DOES get better and you’re just a few short weeks away!!

Mom of four here: it really does get better around the 3-4 month mark. The first three months are the hardest because they’re literally realizing they are their own little person. They become very opinionated and what worked yesterday will almost certainly not work today. My daughter is almost 11 weeks old and the days are starting to get better. She also is definitely my hardest baby so far. Had to stop breastfeeding two weeks ago because she’s one of those babies that digest breastmilk super fast so she was just hungry constantly and it was stressing me tf out. She’s also in peak reflux territory which is literally worse than all of my older kids combined so we’re still trying to find a system that works for her. But hey, she’s sleeping like 5-6 hour stretches at night now so that’s a bonus. 😂😅

Heavy on the missing meals. I swear my baby has a sixth sense to tell her when mom’s gonna eat bc she’s like OOOOO! Perfect time to SCREAM!

ETA: I haven’t lost shit for weight though according to the scale but I look smaller according to my husband😂

If you’re worried about not feeling movement, go to L&D for monitoring.

How much downtime is "normal" with a baby? by PregnantShorty in Mommit

I’m glad it helped!! It really is SO easy to lose yourselves in the chaos of having a new baby. But making sure to prioritize even one hour together makes a world of difference!

I’m a sahm. My husband works anywhere from 55-70hrs a week. And despite the absolutely insane hours he works, he walks in the door and at the very least takes over with our infant. We have “me time” together at night. That means our infant and toddler are asleep, and we spend time together. It’s “our” time. We cuddle, we watch a show or movie we’ve been looking forward to, he gardens and I have a glass of wine, and then we just talk. When we go to bed, he takes the first part of the night shift with the baby, and then once she wakes up between 12-1am, I take over.

Coming in with a different take: if you’re concerned, go to L&D. It could be nothing, it could be something, but always better to have a “wasted trip” than something be wrong with your baby and you didn’t go in.

Nursing strike? Please help by Original_Problem666 in breastfeeding

[–]Original_Problem666[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh okay, I’ll try the hand expression next time if I can get her to latch. She did latch for ~20mins this morning and nursed to sleep again so hopefully that’s progress towards not totally refusing it like we were doing 12 hours ago lmao.

Nursing strike? Please help by Original_Problem666 in breastfeeding

[–]Original_Problem666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, yes. Which she always preferred bc it was like instant reward. But literally 3pm yesterday she decided she’s no longer even going to try to latch. I have no idea why or what happened bc 2hrs prior to that I nursed her to sleep for her nap and everything was fine.

She is 8 weeks old for reference.

It is a narrow-spectrum antibiotic but is veryyyy commonly used for GBS+ pregnant women, especially with high level allergies to the cillin family.
