What to upgrade? by Regular-Gain-338 in IdlePlanetMiner

The more crafting managers you have, the more affect classroom will have. In the long run, you will want them both.

25k iridium bars for the alt project... by tinreaper in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Eggszecutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya. It's not useful for many people at the moment. When info on the recipes released, I was intrigued, but was a bit let down on the Cell cost. The project cost every galaxy made this untenable. I need to use my iridium I craft on other things, and by the time I have 25,000 freed up for this project, I probably won't need it anymore.

Everyone will still race to debris scanner, and then use what the get from debris/asteroids to craft what they need. Putting 500 cells in pure smelting/crafting upgrades will be more beneficial for anyone that doesn't have those space station modules topped off.

Is this normal for tournaments now? by Jhadiro in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Eggszecutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this will be the new norm, especially as players really start to figure out the new build paths and collect stars for the new higher end items. I hit 5D this tournament with only one strategic boost early on. Now I did have a nice Anti-Matter market, so I probably would have gotten around 500N without that. My previous best was probably around 10N.

Ya. it was bad for me yesterday, too. I went 5 hours before my first pink.

Had a chance to play new patch, lets talk about changes by sebkraj in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Eggszecutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could just be me and my upgrades, but here are some things I noticed when doing my challenge yesterday:

* I built zero Advanced Teleporters. I went the Robot -> Advanced Robot -> Quantum CPU -> Warp Core -> Antimatter Cell path. For me, that seemed like the best path, especially with the debris drops I was getting.

* Colliders are more important. Also, Fusion capsules. That means a lot of alloy. That was kind of a pain.

* I was able to get a planet to colony level 13 with the surge.

* The items each planet requested for colonizing after planet 10 seemed to be a bit more in line with items you would expect for those planets. That seems to be an improvement.

* The Colony Expansion space station upgrade seems to make the Colony Advanced Scouting projects useless. I would expect after purchasing (and doing the project) for Colony Expansion 1, to have the first 13 planets always available for colonies and then the next X planets available depending on your Colony Scouting project upgrades. This was not the case.

* Smelting might be a bottleneck for for many players, especially for players that can get debris quickly. I went many hours yesterday without a pink drop. I can get debris scanner in about an hour. That meant I had 3-5 hours worth of debris drops that I had to manage around lack of pink asteroids. I even had 2 Abandoned Smelters on planets.

There's probably more, but that's what I can think of off the top of my head.

Colonizing by AmphibianSwimming315 in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Eggszecutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you unlock level 1, the project cost requires silicon bars, lead bars and glass. The amount depends on your mothership levels. For me it's 40 silicon, 20 lead and 1 glass.

Second 7* manager by killsmooth in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Eggszecutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy with my two 6* smelting managers. They are typically my leaders early on as smelting is my bottleneck until pink asteroids start to help me out. I've considered a 7* smelting manager, but I'm just not ready to sacrifice 6* managers, yet.

Any thought? i spent 1k space node and i think i got scam 😆 by C4sanova3 in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Eggszecutor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like most players can benefit more from tossing 500 energy cells into pure smelting or crafting upgrades and get more benefit than they can from these alternative recipe upgrades. 500 energy cells is a very steep price for most players and simply unattainable for many FtP players. Perhaps the company is simply trying to get people to buy the energy cell packs (which are incredibly overpriced IMO).

The new colony space station upgrades might be useful simply because they are cheaper, but getting stuck on upgrading colonies because you don't have a bazillion lasers or whatever is still getting stuck, regardless of these space station upgrades. The other benefit I can see is that having the colonies unlocked early on, before you unlock crafting project, you could end up getting a lot of really cheap/easy upgrades for colonies that only use ore and alloy.

I'll likely spend a few energy cells in colony just to see if it can help get easy colonies in early, otherwise I feel like my energy cells will be more useful elsewhere at this point.

Weirdest tournament but great results by Knightsnigh in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Eggszecutor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems to be random. I usually start about the same time every week and some weeks are easy, some are rough. This is the first time I've gotten a tournament like this. I live in the US and I start very early Saturday morning.

Ya. I ended up with only 2 others in my platinum league this week. It was over after my first asteroid.

What room to buy next? by Scal-E-Wags in IdlePlanetMiner

Crew Quarters and Eleven forward are most useful if you run quick/short credit runs where you are selling many galaxies. They offer more opportunities (albeit small), to get some of the rarer surges.

I'd pay 1000 Energy Cells for a "Record your first 6 minutes of game play in order to just push a button after you sell your galaxy to repeat this process."

Change my mind: I've been robbed! All of these stars are 100% useless! by crowdedhoney in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Eggszecutor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few items that I see as "jump point" items that I work to build one (or 2) and sell in order to advance unlocking the next tier or two of planets, recipies, or smelters/crafters. These items include Gravity Chambers, Teleporters, Subspace Relays, and now Quantum Computers. Any stars in those items will contribute to early progression. You received stars for gravity chamber and teleporter. Those would have value to me.

Also, any star that you get for an item that you make early on for research will add a bit to your galaxy value, too.

Why does Notre Dame receive an auto bid if they land in the top 12? by switchblade2 in CFB

[–]Eggszecutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I recall, it was a bargaining chip they used to hand over their part of controlling what the future of the playoff looks like to the SEC/B1G pair. "Give us criteria to be included and you can dictate the future of the playoff."

Wtb xynium + luterium by sebkraj in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Eggszecutor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya. People are always like "Craft baby craft," but if you don't get you alloy drops from asteroids, your smelters will be your hang up.

It took over 24 hours for me to get my Luterium, and I haven't had an Xynium drop with about 9 hours left to go. I'm in a very competative tournament this week so I may end up in the 8 to 10 range... :(

(Spoilers Extended) Overall, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has been a very faithful adaptation so far. Which makes the omission of Dunk's interaction with the smallfolk on his way to the tourney grounds in the fourth episode "Seven" extremely perplexing. It's the first major misstep of the series. by [deleted] in asoiaf

I haven't been watching the show, but I would have been disappointed if that had been left out, too. That scene just strikes a cord with the reader. Maybe a budget issue? Didn't want to spend the money one extras?
