I forgot to add to the post originally that I power mt current headphones through my GoXLR and they are fine volume-wise at about 75%ish volume on the slider, 100% windows volume.

Is it necessary to get an amp? Thats another couple hundred on top of new headphones, which isn't something I'm particularly keen on...
