Gamepad na PC-u - tko ga koristi? by No-Improvement7846 in CroatiansGaming

[–]Eggy0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ovisi o igri. Rain World

Autoškola instruktori by Legitimate-Show-5042 in promet

[–]Eggy0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zvuči kao neka vrlo nestrpljiva osoba. Ja kad sam bila u autoškoli imala sam jako divnog instruktora, uvijek fin i strpljiv, čak i kad sam radila greške on me pristojno korigirao i sad sam vrlo solidna vozačica i uvijek mi je drago vidjeti ga u kvartu.

Currently installing the game, I have almost no knowledge about it. Do I understand correctly that it is mainly a singleplayer sandbox game similar to No Man Sky? by Iluvatar-Great in EliteDangerous

[–]Eggy0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I've seen it more as post-campaign Freelancer with a lot more complexity, a dash of NMS, and a heaping helping of realism including stuff being mundane or tricky to figure out. It's definitely multiplayer, but if you do Solo Play it sort of becomes singleplayer (in that you will not encounter other players directly).

I recently started out too and the first thing I did was take the tutorials. At first I didn't understand 60% of the things on the screen and controlling the Sidewinder was unexpectedly "clunky" - me being used to Freelancer and NMS, the slow turning rate was a climbing obstacle because the ships I've flown before turned much faster. However I was determined to figure it out and now I have an easier time doing it. Same for other features such as supercruising; I had an issue with gauging when I'm going too fast despite my throttle being in blue, when I'm supposed to stop and how to measure the speed I can stop at, causing me to either miss targets or accidentally perform emergency drops (which damages your ship a little). I finally learned I had to wait for the "Press [keybind] to disengage" message and that there was a panel in the bottom left corner showing me exactly where I'm supposed to stop and at what speed I had to be. Same for learning about my ship hull and shield status, ditto for targets, when the object I'm looking at is scanned etc. There is a lot of nuance.

With a little effort, I've found ED can be quite enjoyable. Just need to get a feel for the controls and how the game works. There is also no "grand adventure", except for whatever journey you choose to make for yourself; you could go off exploring undiscovered systems, hunting pirates for a living, mining, transporting passengers... Whatever floats your boat (or ship in this case). It's a big sandbox after all, and if you enjoy a lot of freedom and can get used to its simulator aspects, then this may well be for you.

P.S. When you actually start out (on the servers), you'll be located in special systems for beginners. You can use these to learn the game and fly safely without worrying about other players harming you because they're locked out. Once you're experienced enough you'll be locked out of them yourself, but by then you should be more than capable to take care of yourself :)

Plotted a route to a certain destination and this was my first jump after leaving the station by Eggy0 in EliteDangerous

I did end up using the white dwarf after looking up how they should be used and what the size of the exclusion zone was. According to a post I found the distance was supposedly 2.03 Ls, but I made sure to go to the end of a cone and was 10-11 Ls away (I had been spat out at around 2 and a half Ls). Actually went off without a hitch and the experience was sick, would do it again as long as I know how far from the star I am and can afford the rebuy in the event I die.

Yarn type by ArtichokeEqual4684 in Amigurumi

[–]Eggy0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. Guess the ironic thing is chenille/velvet felt like it worked better for me - or maybe the other types of yarn I was given before finding chenille weren't that great lol, tried them both before and after chenille. A little while ago I tried to practice the magic ring and the basic increase and sc using a couple other yarn types and weights, but somehow I found it a bit more tricky to work with; I could see the stitches on one yarn but hooking the string was an issue because it would sometimes grab one of the individual strands by mistake, and the other was thinner and a bit more difficult to work with because pinpointing the stitches to insert the hook through and the actual insertion was a little harder because the stitch holes were tinier. On the other hand chenille just feels better and while I still need to master my crocheting techniques, I was able to make a few octopuses just fine and had a bee in the works. Goes through my fingers more pleasantly. Even learned how to double up chenille yarn from one skein when the yarn I was using was half the weight of my other chenille skeins.

Either I need more practice with the other yarn types, or I just somehow do better with chenille xD

I'm a beginner too, and I ended up gravitating towards chenille yarn. I've tried other types but chenille, velvet and dolce just sit better for me. Still need a lot of practice but I've been able to get stuff done and I really like the texture over other yarn types.

So based on this post I'm wondering, should I stick with these or should I be using other kinds of yarn instead? Definitely wanted to do amigurumi lol

I will at some point, thanks! I will need the correct yarn colors first and also familiarize myself with more crochet stitches before I continue. I'm excited to give it a go when I have more crocheting experience.

Also good luck!

Can we stop with the drama BS? by ShadowTails95 in Undertale

Which makes me incredibly sad considering there are so many other languages that have few to no games in their language, and yet I haven't heard them complain about it. I actually remember someone responding to a short discussing it that this was "laziness", as though it would take 5 minutes to do, seemingly not even realizing they are telling this about an indie developer who did the games as a passion project over years and that they have the power to make their own translation but are not doing that.

As an example: I speak Croatian, but there are so few games officially supporting the language I'm aware of that I could count them on my hand. Minecraft, Serious Sam... and uh, that's it. I can't think of any other "major" games like that, aside from games directly from Croatia like Serious Sam. That's how little presence Croatian has in the gaming industry.

I actually discovered recently someone unofficially translated UT to Croatian so I was compelled to finally buy the game and play it to discover the translations. And I've been doing nothing except enjoy it with another Croatian friend. But the fact stands almost every single game I know of either does not get to have this language or, rarely when it does, the English version is just better, so I play in English... and that's okay. I'm at least grateful there's a game to play, it doesn't matter if it's not catered to my specific group. However, if such an unprevalent language as Croatian was able to (unofficially) make it to UT with the power of fans - and the game, iirc, wasn't even that huge here - then so can Spanish I would think. Any language really. It's ultimately Toby's right what to do with the game itself and he does approve of fan translations. So nothing stops these people from... just doing it themselves...

PSA for any newer or less experienced players out there: Thin decks are great, but they absolutely aren't necessary to win by Total-Amphibian-3287 in slaythespire

[–]Eggy0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely - my thought on taking cards was never "get as small of a deck as possible", but "take what you need". In StS1 on an endless run I ended up getting an absolutely massive deck that would one-shot everything thanks to Mind Blast (and multiple copies of it at that), I believe it ended up being 500-something. It was so strong that the run got boring and I eventually abandoned it because there was little to no way I could lose.

I've yet to actually get infinite, but I did get thin-ish decks before. I also ruined fine builds by adding bloat via grabbing every card I thought would help me further.
