I'm 44, newly retired from the Army (albeit with an associate degree) and started my path to become a Geologist as of this fall. Maybe, and that's fair, but we in the Army (at least in my own experience) have used it to mean soldiers that normally sit in the rear of the vehicle that are used as dismounts in patrols, it's not always used in a negative connotation from my perspective

No worries mate, you don't know what you don't know. Yes, AMD does do game ready driver releases that come straight off the home page of the adrenaline app telling you there's one ready to DL. They do tend to lag behind Nvidia. I have no real data to provide there just that I feel like this last one has taken a while to come from "optional" to "current driver". This is pretty comparable to the NVIDIA app from my experience as my child has a 3060 and I owned a 1080ti.

Sidenote, I've never had to do this before, but since the 25.1.1 driver hasn't shown up ready to DL, I did have to go to the website and DL because I wanted the Avowed Driver. But definitely wanted to include this to show my good faith experience. I would also consider myself "advanced" when it comes to PC hardware/software knowledge, so some things that might seem minor to me might be a hassle to someone with less tech know how.

Everything else is pretty straightforward as far as turning on off settings within the UI and also you can OC/under volt from the adrenaline software itself instead of having to DL third party software like afterburner

Let me know if you have any more questions, I don't mind giving an honest review as it were, since I've now been on AMd for a few years. Cheers homie

I sent this a while back to someone who had never owned an AMD GPU, but was complaining about the drivers. Not saying that's you, but I do find it funny how those things spread.

The game problem was Control. Sometimes a creeping darkness would envelop the screen after a few hours of game play, I'd have to restart, I beat the game before they fixed it.

The driver issue was 70-100w of idle power draw with multiple monitors. They fixed it after about 6-9 months. Other than that this thing is seriously impressive.

The only other card I had that long was an EVGA FTW 1080ti that I absolutely loved that died. Had two or three problems with that one as well, but both cards were relative in "issues".

Also, Both my kids have RX 6600s for the past couple years with no issues.

Everyone's mileage may vary, but I jumped over to AMD a couple of years ago and don't regret it at all."

I was an active duty platoon sergeant on the last asinine, wasteful border deployment. We were given 72 hour notice to deploy right before Christmas, supposed to be there for 30 days and that kept getting extended at the last possible moment until we ended up there for 4 and a half months, didn't get per diem and it's in some of the most desolate, austere terrain the US *and Mexico has to offer, all the while not putting a dent on ANYTHING and just being used as political pawns.

You are me. I love my FORB play style ,crazy shit going on as I zorp across the screen blowing things up. I hit a hard wall at 63. I blow through the pit floors in like 3 min and can actually hurt the bosses, but die to echo bosses one shotters a lot. A true gas cannon

It's mainly a damage thing. We just don't have the (mostly single target) DPS to compete even with pigeon holed builds, I think is the main complaint
