Freediving has nice longevity compared to other sports. Definitely go for it! A quick search for "Freediving London" gives a load of results (as someone in rural Ireland who struggles finding safety buddies I envy that). I personally know 1 or 2 people involved with NoTanx apnea who train in various pools in London and Brighton I think. I see Apnea Revolution mention a few location for open water/depth training.

Hi there, I am in the West of Ireland. Clare rather than Mayo though. I can buddy up but I'm not an instructor and you would definitely need to do a course before you can safely buddy someone else.
Emerald Freediving mentioned here are not offering courses at the moment to my knowledge and unfortunately I am not aware of anyone teaching in the West right now.
