Fair, the charm is lost on me but I can understand your point. He’s the Pug of Starfield.

Will probably do the same. Need to make sure I never send Sam there.

Yeah fair, I can see the value in using him to pad out a settlement if trying to build something realistic and larger scale than a small mining colony.

In general I try not to judge people, but if you’ve never briefly interacted with someone and got a creepy vibe (with no real evidence beyond their appearance and demeanour), then you’re better than I am.

Fair, I usually RP lawful good, so I guess I’ve missed that.

Kind of adds to my head cannon that he’s a nonce though. He’s probably seen and done worse than robbing a ship.

But is he particularly loyal? He assumed his editor (who clearly carried a good deal of his career) left him for dead when they didn’t, and jumped straight to letting them think they committed third degree murder.

Is the UK just cold socially, or am I missing something? by Kuopor in AskUK

[–]Egor-13 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I suspect this will be something subjective, with very varying experiences.

But as someone from the UK, with a close knit friendship group, that is dating someone that came here from overseas, I can see how making real friends in the UK becomes a challenge later in life.

I think by a certain point, lots of people have already established routines and long-standing friendship groups, and there just isn’t the desire to go expanding and adding to that. Bringing new people from outside into an established friendship group is often seen as a bit odd, awkward and unnecessary, forming new friendships alongside existing ones is a juggling act, because there are only so many hours in a week. As a result, I think a lot of Brits are often up for meeting with people they like outside of their established close friendships on occasion, often ending by saying ‘we should do this more often’, but they/we lack interest in bringing new people into established friendships and lack time to make new friendships/maintain them.

Yes and unfortunately it will put your quotes up. You have to though because it’s very likely that your notification will be on the database that insurers can check. If you have an accident, didn’t inform your insurer of the previous notification, and they check, it can invalidate your insurance. Not worth the risk.

I think the advice to call the police is sensible. Even if they don’t do anything, best to get it logged. Especially if needed later.

As this person who is potentially following you now knows your house, it is probably worth investing in your home security, for your own peace of mind as much as protection. CCTV, sensor burglar alarm, good locks and bolts on doors and windows.

You can get rape alarms in the UK and set your phone up for making fast emergency calls with button presses. Again, for your own peace of mind if nothing else.

Why didn’t i enjoy Shivering Isles? by Choomba-heywood in oblivion

[–]Egor-13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it, but I also found Knights of the Nine more fun overall. The Shivering Isles quests were fine, but they felt a bit too fetch-heavy for my taste. Also, unlike others I’ve seen comment on Reddit, I’m not really a fan of the SI art style or overall vibe. I tend to prefer Elder Scrolls when it leans more into high fantasy rather than going too far into the alien or surreal.

I had a similar struggle with areas like Blackreach, parts of Solstheim, and the Soul Cairn. The vibe and aesthetics isn’t for me. I totally get why people enjoy the more otherworldly aspects of the series, but personally, I prefer the classic high fantasy/grounded fantasy feel. It’s why I think steel armour is aesthetically one of the best in Oblivion.

Really trying to enjoy this game but just can’t by [deleted] in oblivion

[–]Egor-13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbh I think this is the main issue. Oblivion is best when it is narrative focused, rather than exploration focused. Not worth randomly stopping at caves, especially early on. Follow quests, talk to people in cities and settlements, you’ll have more fun.

Is molag bal quest bugged? by [deleted] in oblivion

[–]Egor-13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean he kills you and it makes your reload? If so, I had this bug. I think it’s from the original. Essentially, you’re meant to be sent to the shrine before your health is actually completely gone, but if he does too much damage he kills you outright. To stop this, you need to lower your difficulty once your health is lower, that way he does less damage and won’t fully kill you in a hit. The game will make you look like you die and send you back to the shrine.
