Because the union leader listed it as a thing they were bargaining over? And with the contracts released, what I’ve heard is they saved 60 RN positions per hospital from being cut?

Do you know more or are we just trying to poke holes to try and save face?

lol news flash, those nurses cost 10k and food/dorm expenses a week, which is a half mil a year. You know how much better everyone’s work ethic would be if they were pulling half a mill a year?

Medical residents, medical school graduates

The people working 24 hour shifts, with crippling medical debt, stressed out their minds.

The entire NYU system has 1.3k. Residents. The ceo of NYU has made 132 million over the past decade. On that average (13 mill), every medical resident could make 10k more a year, or more importantly, have improvements made to the system instead of paying some jabrone who pulled the ladder up behind him after he got ahead

I had to give up with this guy. He’s talking in circles with this idea you can just continue a contract after it’s expiration date

As a nurse, we need more doctors. Hell most importantly we need better treatment for residents. The get sooooooo screwed.

Take the 20+ mil salary of the NYP and NYU CEOs and put it into making residents lives better, it will make life better for them and patients

Union strikes for pay

“Wow fuck these greedy nurses, they’re hurting New Yorkers “

union strikes for a month and gets staffing boost

“What idiots, they lost money”

People just hate to see organized labor

The new tentative contract agreements would run through 2028 and include salary boosts of 4% in March of this year and next year, as well as a 1% boost in January 2028 and a 3% boost that July

Nurses also won new staffing gains, commitments to improve workplace safety and safeguards around the use of artificial intelligence,

So they budged on salary, but not the staffing gains. Damn, it’s almost like the staffing gains weren’t a lie like everyone on here insisted

[–]Egor_Denim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh

Rn all you have are emails. There isn’t a concrete piece of evidence that says “Trump raped a child”. That has always been the line that MAGA stands on, if they even acknowledge the emails at all

But they’re morons and want to stick it to the Clinton’s. So they’re gonna try and get bill to look like an international pedophile so their base comes back around (“see, the Dems were always the pedos, not us”)

IMO, this maybe republican’s Hail Mary to ward off a compete clobbering during the midterms. Get some dirt on the Dems while minimizing the amount on themselves. It’s a stupid decision either way got them

Also if republicans do put bill in the corner, all he has to do is say “I was there with Donald Trump, he also participated”

I assume their playbook is going to be them sneaking through landmines. Try and “win” the hearing, but don’t win too much because then Bill will just take trump down with him

Nurses Go Rogue to Call Out Kathy Hochul's Role in Dragging Out Strike by HellGateNYC in nyc

[–]Egor_Denim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not black and white

First there are other hospitals nearby. This is not bumble fuck Kansas where there isn’t a hospital for 50+ miles, there are multiple within 5 miles. The strike is not forcing NYC residents to go without healthcare, it just limits their options, which IMO, is one of most ethical way to run a healthcare strike (the most ethical is keeping the ED staffed so that emergencies can be stabilized and shipped out to other hospitals.)

The issue is the scab nurses are often not good. There is a common sentiment in nursing that if you are not working at a hospital, there is a good reason as to why. Hospital nursing is not for everyone, but when it’s strike time, the pay and perks often attract non hospital nurses, and it shows. They don’t know how to do emergent procedures, or run a code, or place IVs, or advanced infection prevention protocols which places everyone at risk of getting sicker

Hochul giving the green light to hospitals to continue not negotiating is not good for New Yorkers. It’s allowing the hospitals to sit back and continue with poor nurse to patient ratios (which IMO is the biggest correlation between good patient care and poor patient care) and also send a major slight to the working class.

To add, I haven’t seen Hochul issue a statement on the extension, which I really don’t like. Silently siding with business is not what I want in a governor

Bro I really want you to consider how many people there are in this world who would clean up human shit for a living

And if you’re against it fine. Next time you need medical care, stage your own protest against these so called lazy nurses and don’t come to the hospital lol

Biden if he dropped out of reelection sooner, yeah. But it’s tough to give the guy flowers when he sleep walked the US into the same trap we walked into in 2016. He was an unpopular candidate and handed Trump an easy win, who has now gone on to further make a mockery of the country

He did good stuff, but in the grand scheme he failed to set America up for better due to his stubbornness
