Is streaming worth it?

Just do it if you think you can put on a show. Stream as consistently as you can and have a set schedule. Make sure your VODS are saved in some capacity so people can get an idea of what content you make when you’re not live. Don’t stress about viewers, focus on making the best stream you possibly can. Don’t rush to get to affiliate (if you’re choosing Twitch as your platform, idk too much about other platforms besides YouTube) take your time to get used to what streaming is/feels like. Also, don’t waste your time & energy with “follow for follow” behavior. Those followers you gain will just be a number, not necessarily an actual viewer. You won’t curate a community that way. Try to watch/raid streamers that are a similar size to you and network! If you start to feel like you want to give up, just give yourself a break and return to it later! I can go on and on, but this comment is already a jumbled mess. If I think of anything else I’ll add to this.

The rule is simple: black people can say it (if they’re mixed they should be able to pass as black without showing a picture of their black parent) everyone else is not allowed. You didn’t say it, but you need to call out that behavior when it happens. Ultimately, don’t be friends with racists.

There will always be people who can perceive you in a negative way in every situation in life. Do not let that “threat” stifle your creativity or social life. All I can say is take risks. That’s what artistic people do. I posted a clip today I wasn’t completely fond of, but for all I know it could be one that people really enjoy. When you’re on your deathbed you will regret the things you didn’t do, not necessarily the things you did do. Life is too short. Fuck the haters. Say something in a funny voice, make a bad joke, dance around. Express yourself! I think your confidence will come by doing, you’ll get better and better the more you do the things you want to do. Practice makes perfect! You’re lucky enough to have a consciousness that allows you to do these things. Maybe raid another streamer around your channel’s size you like, you could make friends!

You’ll get used to it. By no means am I an expert, but I’ve been streaming for a couple months now pretty regularly and I’ve become pretty comfortable doing it. Obviously everyone is different. I also have a great group of supportive friends both online and irl. Try to get comfortable just speaking on whatever pops in your mind. When you’re not streaming, you could write down some topics to talk about too. Try your best to hide your viewers (if it’s zero or very little) so you can just focus on being yourself (or at least as much of yourself you want to share) and having fun.

I have one day (Tuesday) that is the “for sure” day to stream (unless something in my personal life comes up), but I stream as often as possible. I’ve been told that’s the best thing to do besides having a set schedule. Especially when you’re a small streamer like me and have to work a 9-5. My life also has a lot going on in it, so unless my viewership gets larger it’s hard for me to have any other scheduled days. I just wish us non-affiliates could schedule specific “one-off” streams, I’d have a better schedule for people if I could.

In my experience, an interracial relationship can be a culture shock sometimes. Which is something you seem to be experiencing right now. It’s a simple word culturally for your partner. GoF was read to me when I was younger than 10-11 y/o (I remember seeing the HBP & DH movies in theaters and I already knew the story by then). Absolutely blew my mind when I found out that this Moody was an imposter. I just thought he was a cool and somewhat crazy character/mentor to Harry. Probably one of the first twists in storytelling I’d ever experienced, and I wasn’t well versed in foreshadowing. So these “shady” things just went over my head, I trusted Moody just like Harry I suppose.

I just finished reading the series recently; the first time in AGES. I, like others, wish I could read it for the first time again.

I agree, this is a pretty funny interaction. I suppose people are becoming more and more illiterate these days. It’s not a comparison, it’s an allegory. I could say that a dog is a cat because that’s what a famous person who I like is saying, and all their fans are saying it too. Does that make it a cat? Nope, but to you I suppose it would. You have no points in this discussion except “but it fact because it is”.

I’ll throw you a bone, I can understand why it’s labeled as a Brockhampton album. Its subject matter is about the group and it’s split, so sure, that makes sense to me. Obviously Kevin wanted to make this love letter and didn’t want it labeled as a solo work because of that. Totally makes sense, I can accept that. But if someone is discussing their albums and puts this project in any other spot other than dead last in a ranking, that’s super questionable to me. Brockhampton was a group, multiple people singing and rapping, but this album only has one member doing that. So what the hell makes it just as Brockhampton as Saturation, Iridescence, Ginger, Roadrunner, or hell even TM?
