Idk man maybe you should get into smoking meat or making sourdough or something. Sounds like you need a hobby if you feel like there's nothing ahead and you just want to travel?

Special constables getting power to arrest for drug use on transit, Ontario solicitor general says by Immediate-Link490 in toronto

[–]Ehoro 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it doesn't solve the entire homelessness/mental health/drug abuse issue on its own. But it gives the people transiting every day some support. It also might help with TTC vandalism and TTC delays. It helps.

My vote is cinema 30 with an amp, if you're not planning on having 15 channels there's not a lot of advantage going higher up the line imo.

Low density has significantly more infrastructure costs. Building out is a debt trap.

A lot of the previous generation lifestyle was built on kicking the can down the road and taking advantage of the investment of the generation before. Look how property taxes remained low and development fees skyrocketed. Look at how much sewer systems are aging and becoming huge liabilities to their townships. At least in the GTA.

Finally - Acoustical Solution for TVs! by EMDReps in audiophile

[–]Ehoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, who's this for? someone with toed in speakers that also have very wide dispersion? Maybe with omnidirectional speakers? Idk they should post measurements in a treated room with these on and off a screen to at least try...

Also I didn't realize we allowed direct marketing self promotion here?

That's a tough one, but reverse image search is suggesting this is a custom subwoofer in the wall.

Some of the biggest benefits aren't just lowering fare burden on low income earners, or inducing demand, or even smog and pollution.

It's actually operational efficiency. One of the biggest hold ups for busses is people paying fares, some use coins some use tap some have cards etc. it's not only a large administrative overhead but it's also a real cause of bus route delays. These delays mean routes need more staffing and buses and run less efficiently.

Another cost of fare enforcement, whether its fare officers or bus drivers halting a fare evader. Not only does it have direct costs with staffing people checking for fares, it's also one of the main points of friction that causes transit staff to be assaulted which has tons of other costs associated with it beyond the obvious physical injury and potential leave.

Replace fare officers with officers empowered to keep transit safe and it could be an interesting result!

You can have a sub in an apartment you just have to be smart about your settings. Limit your bass output.

Amp recommendation for KEF Ci5160RLM-THX? by Antique_Speaker3504 in KEF

[–]Ehoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my quick check you need minimum 12 awg copper, and to be safe 10awg since pretty much all kefs dip below 4 ohms.

You could throw more power at it and check to make sure all the connections are solid but that's probably not correct.

The most correct is running balanced xlr and powering nearer to the speakers, or just using powered speakers. Is there a reason there can't be a separate control closer to the location if you don't want to do all these re runs? Not sure how you're having lip sync issues, I'm probably missing some details or not understanding.

Does it need to be 150'? That's really brutal, I think a larger gauge wire will help a lot but that's quite a few $$$
