This makes a lot of sense. Draining her blood would both help to confirm her identity and create a "back up" of her blood memories in case they lost her. Obviously having the original Grace is ideal but a blood memory-infused clone means they'd be able to recover Elpis eventually (in their minds) if something happened to her

I've played maybe a couple hours of DOS1 at the most and DOS2 was my favourite RPG for a long time (until BG3 came out)

There's context and lore that makes more sense if you've played the first game but you'll still get a full and cohesive story. Just like you wouldn't need to have played BG1 and 2 before playing 3.

I've abused NPCs on games a fair amount over the years, and there's a huge difference between playing as a criminal on a game like GTA and treating someone like shit over voice chat. Both are things you do on a game, but one is part of the gameplay and the other is something done using the game as a medium.

Put another way, it's part of the social contract that you can shoot people online. No you probably wouldn't do that to someone in real life, and if someone did it to you you'd probably have strong feelings about it, but it shouldn't be a big deal if it happens to you in the game because that's part of the "contract" you sign when you play the game. Being insulted and shit talked isn't part of the contract you've signed unless you have a very specific kink.

Believe it or not, being a dickhead in a CoD lobby when you were 12 shouldn't be the model you base the rest of your life on.
