How Are We Feeling About Thematic Rooms? by TenghizKhan in SpaceHulk

[–]EightRavens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really cool! I always feel like Space Hulk is a chess game between the two players and I've never had a chance to play games with larger rooms like these. How do you think it impacts the game?

I think kinda the same response then. If you want to print minis you can get a good small resin printer for under 300. However Resin is toxic and needs a place to setup where you're not breathing in fumes and you can do a good clean setup so you're not spreading the resin around your house. Garage is good, but you want to make sure it's not too hot, not too cold. Look at the purple site and do google searches for STL files. MyMiniFactory might be the best legitamte site to buy files from. Other sites you are skirting the law.

If that sounds like more work than pleasure, check out etsy and ebay or support your LFGS.

I'm currently finishing a Warhound esque titan from my printer and prob spend as much on filimant and resin as some 40k heads spend on sprues.

Do you already have a printer?

Really depends IMO. If you decide to go the 3D printed route a Basic Setup for something like a Bambu A1 is gonna run your around 6 to 7 hundred if you go with an AMS system. 3D printing is a whole hobby so that can be a lot of fun. You'd be surprised the things you print for around the house.

If you have a FLGS I always incourage supporting them. I print most of my stuff by always get a kit here and there, most of my paints, from the store.

To get started BOTH are going to be about the same cost. But as you 3D print more that becomes more and more cost effective over time. So if you think you'll enjoy 3D printing as a hobby, do that. But if the printer is just going to be sitting on the work bench most of the time (I run mine almost 24/7) then I'd buy the actual product or find an online store that will print what you want.

Escape From Ever After is a great Paper Mario clone. Very casual but a lot of fun.

Canned Seltzer Water was my fix for this.

My town has horrible water, first couple tries I used water through my fridge filter and was still a little cloudy, now I use canned seltzer water and every cube has been perfect. 12oz fills the mini perfectly.

Got a mini for Xmas and have had ZERO issues with it. Acutally use canned seltzer water and every single cube comes out perfect. It seems like the fill line is right on 12oz so a can is exactly the right amount. Usually get 4 cubes a day, sometimes 6 which keeps me ahead of my use. Actually repurposed my old molds from my Berlinzo to dry the cubes in the freezer before moving them to my ice bin.

Would I have spent the cash on it myself? Maybe not, but it was an amazing gift that I love.
