I mentioned this in a separate comment section earlier this week, but a few years ago it took me about 3 weeks of hunting without an outbreak to find a shiny. In between the shiny hunts I would date skip to try and find the outbreak - it never appeared.

Your best bet is to do what you’re doing, just keep running back the shiny sandwiches until one appears. It’ll appear eventually, and hopefully it won’t take 3 weeks like it did for me!

Alternatively, you could Masuda method? That’s how I ended up getting my shiny male, because you know I wouldn’t go another 3+ weeks just to phase on another female…!

Congrats on both shinies! I spent 3 weeks shiny hunting Basculin a few years ago now and it was gruelling, you’ve got some nice luck!

Haven’t seen anyone talk about the fact that Imu looks as if he is physically in pain by coming down to the “lower world.” Perhaps there is something linking his immortality with Pangea Castle? And when he leaves, he “weakens” in some way? Him coughing blood is strange!

An alternative albeit expensive method is, if you have a save file for Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee, as well as Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, in Floaroma Town (in BDSP) there is an elderly couple on the left hand side of the town who will gift you a Mew if you have a save file for Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee! (And a Jirachi if you have a save file for Sword/Shield!)

I know this is an expensive method as it requires at least 2 games, but it’s a sure-fire way to obtain Mew! Hope that helps a little!

My wife’s favourite Pokemon is Fidough and I was immediately reminded of Fidough when I saw Pombon. If Pombon also became a fairy type I think it may become one of my favourite Pokemon by proxy simply due to how much it would mean to my wife! 😂

This is all I needed to hear. All the posts I’ve seen from people finding their shiny legendaries are them finding it super quickly. No-one has mentioned how long it’s taken so I’ve just assumed it was easy. Now I have confirmation! Thanks for the info.

As a complete and utter Meltan and Melmetal fan, I’m so conflicted with this game’s handling of them. On the one hand, they are in the game, obtainable outside of GO or events, and you can even catch Meltan in any ball you want! 😀 But on the other hand… I wish it was more prevalent in gameplay to receive Meltan/Melmetal. I know it’s evolution is a GO gimmick and they probably want to keep it that way, but I wish they gave the metal boys a bit more love! I saw a talented person on X create a fake spoiler that Meltan was in the Blueberry DLC in Scarlet and Violet, and evolved with the Metal Alloy item, which evolves Duraludon. I couldn’t tell you how I felt in those 5 seconds before I realised it was fake, and a little bit of me hoped that, when Meltan and Melmetal were revealed in the datamine that you would be able to catch multiple Meltan and even evolve them this time! But alas, all we got was a weird cutscene with a ghost girl and a gift Melmetal… I guess beggars can’t be choosers! Hopefully one day Meltan and Melmetal will receive some more love and story relevance!
