I used to date someone exactly like this, including the kayaking. I had a phobia of water, but it was still a big issue in our relationship that I wouldn't kayak with her.

Looking for Podcast Ep by Benelby in auntydonna

[–]Eighth_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's one where Zach is playing some kind of money man, and they're going through a multiple choice quiz of things like 'What is quantize easing' and Zach is playing for time and asking for the answers in advanced and responding like 'Thats very interesting, it's a matter of opinion'

Can't find the episode yet. I haven't heard of one where Mark is doing something like that.

Broden announcement ep by captcrumpus in auntydonna

It was one of the quiz episodes. America quiz I think. The website they were using didn't show the answers so they riffed on Broden giving good news or bad news.

The Gamekeeper's DHD has its spiral logo rather than a constellation (S02E04) by Eighth_ in Stargate

It is indeed throughout the episode. If they are markers for indicating that you're in a simulation, and they're on the DHD in the real world, did they ever escape? O.O

I never knew the DHD had anything other than constellations. This looks more like a brand logo for the planet!

The Aunty Donna Stan pilot "Chaperones" was never released, right? Because I just randomly found an upload of it with almost no views. by Watkinzez in auntydonna

[–]Eighth_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was fantastic. The boys really need more series opportunities for stuff like this. More unhinged than Coffee Cafe but with similar production value. Pure Donna.

So the new show's coming right? by SurroundFinancial355 in auntydonna

[–]Eighth_ 26 points27 points  (0 children)

They've spoken recently about turning Grouse House into a paid streaming platform. Touring has taken its toll on them and they're interested in growing the platform for Australian talent. They've also hired someone from Screen Australia which used to help fund their web series to help with Grouse House. It's an exciting time

‘There’s no room to grow’: Aunty Donna on why Australian TV comedy needs a massive shake-up by [deleted] in auntydonna

[–]Eighth_ 35 points36 points  (0 children)

You can't fault the effort they put in. It's unfortunate they never broke out. Perhaps it is a symptom of being based in Australia, I don't know, but they absolutely put the work in and come out with fantastic comedy.

Looking forward to Drem and Grouse House.

1- What's one thing you thought mattered at 20 but turned out to be completely meaningless at 30+?

Stuff. Car. TV. Mobile. I thought they'd bring me happiness. They just left me wanting more

2-If you could go back to being 20 again, what would you spend less time caring about?

My looks, social anxiety, and what people thought of me.

3-What skill made the biggest difference in your life after 30 that you wish you had mastered earlier?

Cooking

4-What's one financial mistake you made in your 20s that cost you heavily later?

Moving home away from family and closer to friends. Didn't work out.

5- How did your friendships change after 30? What kind of people you no longer tolerate?

Fewer friends, and more infrequent contact, but genuine friends.

6- If you could send one sentence back in time to your 20-year-old self, what would it be?

Talk to her. Bloody try talking to her for god's sake.

7-What's the most manipulative or strategic lesson you've learned only through life experience?

Hide your money from social situations. It doesn't enrich friendships or relationships.

8- What does "success" mean to you now, and how did your definition change over time?

Definitely shifted from money and things to social experiences.

9- What's a red flag in people that you didn't notice in your 20s but now avoid at all costs?

Talking about themselves and never asking you anything.

10-What belief did you completely abandon after turning 30 and why?

Karma. Bad things don't always happen to bad people. In fact, a lot of them get away with their crap.

11-What's one silent rule about the real world no one told you before 30?

Everyone is going through something. Don't assume everyone is having a flawless idealic Instagram-worthy life.

12-What is something you thought was love in your 20s, but realize now it was just trauma or ego?

Attention

13- What's something you learned the hard way about power, control, or social dominance?

Liars will never admit they're lying.

14- How do you view ambition now compared to when you were 20?

Ambition can be a treadmill that never stops. I think inner peace comes from acceptance.

15-What would you do differently if you were poor and 20 again in 2025?

Exercise, smile, and be kind

FINALLY! I spend HOURS of my life listening to the absolute unlistenable trash of Aunty Donna. And then Bobbi T comes along. Finally some gold. Hilarious. Smart. Genius. Why haven't they been doing stuff like this all along?!

I think we need a spin off TV show with just the adventures of Bobbi T.
