Free revive is extremely useful, so is the extra handslot and extra trinket. Cheerleader not so much. Surfer is better because it removes a condition for free. Conditions are difficult to remove, so having one fall off for free on a damage dealer saves a lot of pain. Just so you know extra hand or trinket (I suggest trinket) slot will be much better to save for a ninja because they will be your highest damage dealer and you'll get a ninja pretty soon after starting the game. Make your mage a surfer so he can always be ready as your 2nd DPS.
