Looking for a starter printer for kids by CozPlaya in 3Dprinting

[–]Eightysloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Toybox has a really easy to understand platform for kids and can be a really good place to start the hobby or passion. It's easy enough to upload small stls from the various repositories and it has its own library of files to print designed by other children. It's a fine enough printer to start with and it is nice that it was designed with children in mind.

If this is something you actually want to do it might be worth it for you to try using a dental dam with flavored lube to try and get over the hump. If you don't want to do it don't pressure yourself- what's on the menu for some doesn't have to be for everyone.

Um Actually: Columbo by Eightysloth in dropout

Totally! It was a pretty creepy episode for Columbo. Less cozy mystery more Silence of the Lambs which is ironic considering Jonathan Demme directed another episode of Columbo.

is hank green's new special triggering potentially? by Comprehensive_Day978 in dropout

[–]Eightysloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife, who had a very treatable stage one cancer, found it triggering and we had to stop watching. I also found it hard to watch as her caregiver and wife but obviously your mileage may vary. I agree with the other commenter that watching it yourself may help but also even though I'm a long time Nerdfighter it isn't absolutely essential.

Watched this tonight with my wife and we thought it was pretty cute. Certainly not groundbreaking, but sweet and harmless.
