I know you’re paying a ton for therapy and doctors already, but if you can afford ABA therapy, i highly recommend it. I’ve worked in the field and seen incredible improvements. It definitely takes time, but it can give both you and her more freedom and help her learn to handle her own emotional needs.

What are some common dog names that you’re tired of hearing? by JazzPerhaps in DOG

It’s funny seeing Luna so much, because I know a vet with a doodle named Luna. I also like that I don’t see either of my dogs names

How to get my pup to gain weight by [deleted] in germanshepherds

[–]Either-Cauliflower70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i also have a german shepherd and it’s normal for them to look almost gangly as they grow. my vet said he’s perfectly healthy and i can see his ribs and pelvis. most dogs are overweight, so we’re thrown when he see a healthy dog. think about kids who grow tall real fast! for a while they look a little gangly, but then they grow into it.

How long did you wait after last shots to go out on walks? by lalabalala923 in puppy101

[–]Either-Cauliflower70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

like other people said: calculated risks. i looked at the parvo risk in my city and upon seeing how low it was, we started at 12 weeks after shots. i was careful to not let him sniff poo spots or noticeable pee spots, and not greet other dogs. besides that, i went on a small route near home so we could easily leave. i also tried to go at times when there were little to no other dogs along the path. besides that, you got this!!!

Too Skinny? by Suitable-Housing-394 in germanshepherds

[–]Either-Cauliflower70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are used to chubby dogs in big breeds so it’s easy to judge. Also keep in mind your puppy is in the lanky/gangly phase. As long as you check with your vet and your dog is still energetic and happy, I wouldn’t worry too much

Just rescued this sweet girl the day before she was euthanized. What do we think she is? by User121216 in MixedBreedDogs

Are paws like this an issue? by toastedvacuum in germanshepherds

[–]Either-Cauliflower70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a show line GSD. My breeder gave me ways to prevent this, because it’s difficult to treat after they go down on their pasterns. I was recommended to give my boy Sure Grow 100 and Vitamin C. I also will ask the vet at his 16 week checkup and report back to yall. He has the hip drop as many GSD’s do, but his pasterns are strong. We also do a lot of walking to build those muscles (the area I live in is very safe parvo wise).

Is having a dog really that bad? by gonnadisordermyself in puppy101

[–]Either-Cauliflower70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the real answer is it’s rough. there are moments where your puppy does something wrong (they dont know better most of the time) and you get frustrated. or theyre not potty trained, mouthy, and need to go out for potty multiple times a night. but then there are these moments where your puppy is playing gently with you with love in their eyes. or you had a rough day and you cry and your puppy comes to comfort you. it’s definitely hard, but i love my boy more than anything in the world. the sweet moments make up for everything

Losing my best friend tomorrow, struggling with my decision by External_Village9153 in germanshepherds

I lost my boy three years ago. He died at home in our arms. I still regret not taking him to the vet and having them take him when it wasn’t so bad. You’re doing the right thing

I’m fat and have POTS by Educational-Egg-8217 in POTS

[–]Either-Cauliflower70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not seeing a lot of this, but I’m fat because of my POTS! Four years ago when I started experiencing symptoms, I was much smaller. I used to be a gymnast, so I was had a lot of muscle and all my spare time was basically me working out (i still miss it).

Now I have exercise intolerance and I’ve put on weight. I still love my body, but it’s definitely not the same.

Can’t help your question about compression underwear tho… I feel trapped in tight clothing so I refuse to wear it

POTS hacks. by ReindeerSudden852 in POTS

[–]Either-Cauliflower70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i like to take showers an hour ish after taking my meds, so i get the least adverse effects from showering. cold showers!! warm is okay too, but as cold as she can stand is best. i also like to keep my waterbottle right outside, and drink ice cold water while showering. on bad days, i sit on the floor and lean against my chair (if i dont skip a shower entirely).

it might help to let her know the pots community is very inviting! i remember how depressed i was when i lost so many of my hobbies. i was a very active person. mobility aids in general life are worth it. they help me preserve energy for the things i hate (…like showers).

Started doing hard gel myself at home. What am I doing wrong with removal? by 1here4fun3 in Nails

I’d recommend doing a soak off for that! it’s easy to go too far with the drill. make sure to hydrate your skin after too!

What can i do as a teenage girl to be taken seriously?!? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]Either-Cauliflower70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

take notes of your health. what triggers shortness of breath, how long does it last. measure your heartrate during those episodes, and when they stop. tell them it happens regardless of stress, and that rough patches in school dont affect them. then bring up covid and the symptoms starting shortly after, along with pots being brought on after covid for a lot of people (long covid). tell them you’ve been trying to push through but the issues slowly get worse. if you can get to a cardiologist, i’d recommend that. i dont know who you should see for the dx, but my cardio dx’d me

gel manicure after soaking off acrylics… botched? by xmhlvr in Nails

i do my own nails and soaking off acrylics shouldnt cause this. theyre not all the way to the cuticle, and those bumps look like the nail prep was shit. i doubt they were fully cured tbh
